On February 16, a source from tvN stated, “Eun Ji Won, Kwon Hyuk Soo, and Lee Gi Kwang will be appearing on ‘Cooperation 7.’ They will be working with Lee Kyung Kyu, Park Myung Soo, Kim Goo Ra, and Seo Jang Hoon.†For this new show, stars will be paired up and they will strive to become the best variety duo in the industry through various battles. It’ll be his first acting role after the breakup of his idol group B2ST and its re-formation as Highlight. He has been cast as a metropolis government worker in the year 2037 in the experimental 10-episode tvN drama that takes place in two time streams: 2017 and 2037. For the 2017 story, Yeo Jin-gu (Jackpot) has been confirmed as the lead character who is a college student when the first aliens from outer space arrive on earth. Gong Seung-yeon (Introverted Boss) is up to play a fellow college student so maybe there’ll be a cute noona side plot? Much happens in twenty years, and by 2037, the world has been divided into a “Smart Earth†where artificial intelligence has created a utopian environment in which no diseases or crimes exist, and an “Ordinary Earth†where people still suffer from rampant plague and lawlessness. Actor Kim Kang-woo will be playing a passionate detective from Ordinary Earth who somehow gets involved in a case that revolves around the same events that happen in Yeo Jin-gu’s timeline. Anyone reminded of the Hunger Games’s Capital and District 12? I love both Yeo Jin-gu and Kim Kang-woo’s styles of acting, so I can’t wait to see their chemistry. This sci-fi genre can be a tricky beast sometimes especially if they’ll be dealing with CG effects they can’t see or emoting from a perspective we’ve never been in (e.g., aliens invading the Earth). I haven’t seen too much of Lee Ki-kwang, but he was an adorable puppy in both My Princess and Me Too, Flower so maybe he’ll be great in this too. The idol star sat down for a photo shoot and also an exclusive interview. Q: If you look at one's social media page, you're able to figure out their overall lifestyle. Yours seem to revolve around 'soccer, work, and selfie.' Haha. Since I've become so busy nowadays, I haven't gotten around to playing soccer as much. Q: Likewise, you recently finished promoting Highlight's first album, returning to the stage. I am very happy about the results as a '9-year rookie group.' At the same time, I feel 'relieved,' that we were able to successfully promote our album without anyone getting hurt. Q: There was one time where you revealed your personal lifestyle on a variety show. Your house was very clean, and you took care of yourself in terms of your health and beauty. Do you like living alone? Yes, I like living by myself. I enjoy having my own space, it's comfortable. Q: Aren't there some disadvantages to living alone as well? For example, doing the laundry and cleaning the house all by yourself. Definitely. There are times when after I use up all my energy from work and I come home to find all these chores piled up. Since I'm the only person, I tend to clean everything all at once. My parents also come over to help from time to time. Q: Where would you say is the one place you spend time the most at home? In the living room. That's where I eat, drink beer, and watch TV, especially soccer. I usually have that channel on while playing video games. Q: It seems an advantage to living alone is being able to buy whatever you like. Haha. That's right. You were going to ask about my shoe shopping fetish, right? It's true, my love for shoes has not changed. But I am trying my best to spend less. Q: Apart from the usual things like music, movies, and entertainment in general. What is the most important to you? Health, of course! That's why I take supplements. I recently bought a vitamin D supplement. They say that 90% of people these days lack in vitamin D. The special is expected to raise anticipation for the new drama, and will be narrated by Kim Kyung Shik, who is known as the god of introducing movies in Korea. “Circle†is a sci-fi thriller that is divided into two parts, “Part 1: Beta Project†and “Part 2: An Amazing New World,†that take place in 2017 and 2037 respectively. It is not a time-slip storyline, but is actually a “double-track†drama that will show stories in two different generations in the same episode. The drama will feature appearances by Yeo Jin Goo, Gong Seung Yeon, Kim Kang Woo, and Highlight’s Lee Gi Kwang. “Circle: The Beginning†will air on May 16 at 11 p.m. KST, and the first episode of “Circle†will air on May 22 at 11 p.m. KST.
