Oliver 22,442 Posted December 17, 2015 Share Posted December 17, 2015 Marvel recently released a character descriptions for 2 characters and one of them had no mention of race.. and there has been alot of speculations about him being asian in this adaptation of Iron Fist The first is Dylan Kendall, late 20s, handsome and a bit of a loner. This name could actually just be a placeholder for the show’s lead: Danny Rand. Note that there’s no ethnicity specified for this character which indicates that Marvel TV could be casting a wide net for this character and that he could be played by an Asian actor. The other character is Harry Marshall, who’s twice the age, Caucasian, smart, arrogant and physical. But I'd lean more towards Yoshua for his background in martial arts, as well as being a stuntman. He is currently the Blue Power Ranger in Dino Charge. I'd actually be surprised if he wasn't in the running... assuming they are indeed going asian. They claimed that they looked at asian actors though..... if anyone is actually interested in watching a martial arts show starring an asian male lead, check out AMC's Into the Badlands. It stars Daniel Wu, has a bunch of strong female characters (there are actually more female main characters then men), and Daniel's Wu's love interest is a very pretty black woman. Marvel might be more inclined to diversify their lineup on Netflix but Iron Fist has been in development hell for quite awhile, so I wouldn't be surprised to see them play it safe on this one.
