Yeah but like a compliment should gives us confidence but it doesn't really while an insult destroys self confidence really easily :/

[Personally I believe that it all] Depends on whose complimenting you and on what. For example, If a Black girl told a White girl she liked her hair, no biggie. But if it was vice versa, it'd be like "!? OMG, really?" cause it's not something that's said very often. Pretty sure the Black girl would remember the compliment more than the White Girl would've.

I usually forget by the end of the day but I guess it's for the same reason that bad or tragic news has always more impact than good news. It's a shock big or small that leaves us with negative feelings and we hold on to them until we can figure out how to deal with it, and how long that takes depends on the person and their personality. When it's good things there is no effort you need to put into it as there is nothing to sort out so we let go of it easily but again it depends on the person and the situation.

the way i see it, it's more like a motive sort of thing.

When people want to get close to someone to use them, they'll say nice stuff and act friendly and then stab them in the back later.

However, if someone says something negative to someone, there's no question to the motive of the other person.  They don't like you.

Positive comments can be double-edged. negatives can't.  So i assume more people are cautious about the good

Mm, I actually remember compliments more that negative opinions that are outright insults. Like, the people who say my eyes, voice, or hair is pretty are thought of more than the ones who say I'm ugly or such. I mean my looks come from my genes, from my family, it's not something to get hurt about. It's just part of who you are. I am bothered when someone just insults and verbally attacks someone though. A negative/honest/blunt opinion and actual criticism/advice to go along with it is something that I like, but being cruel and unhelpful is a bit much for me. I also don't like when someone starts a senseless argument over differing opinions. A discussion or debate is fine, but an argument where they plug their ears and scream at others in hostility is just a waste of time. To sum it up I like negative opinions as long as someone doesn't take it to an insane extreme. I mean if everything agreed on everything then that would be boring~

Regardless of if it's criticism or hatred, it's still negative. Are you high when you read?

no negative opinions shouldnt affect us more and i think it's pretty stupid to assume that it always does.
