Zhang Bichen (ex-Sunny Days member) only had one meal a day as a trainee in Korea

Zhang Bichang rose to fame after leaving Korea and participating in the third season

of The Voice China, but things weren't always rainbows and butterflies.

She recently participated in a music reality TV program 'Be the Idol' and suddenly felt unwell. She

was unable to complete a task during one of the episodes. She was also seen coughing during

their evening meal, which alarmed the other singers on the show. 

 

When she was asked about her health condition she said that her health is quite poor

because of the treatment by her agency during her trainee days in South Korea.

 

 

*With a cheeky smile* "They say good agencies to provide two meals a day,

but we were only given one meal a day."

 

"Because we were still trainees, we didn't have any income. Life was a bit miserable."

Are we really surprised? The attention and need for tiny waist and slim bodies is prevalent in all music industries. There are more idols who would likely classify as underweight than healthy weight currently; and that isn't even looking at trainees who haven't even debuted and therefore have their weight even more tracked. Idol industry isn't a very healthy profession – especially for women.
