Oh My Girl will no longer be performing at the Unforgettable Gala in LA

So I just emailed a representative who helps run the Gala and he said that they are no longer going to be performing tomorrow.

He said that they have a replacement performer.

It's so sad. This is a missed opportunity.  :rlytearpls:  Such an unfortunate event.  :rlytearpls: .

I don't know if that means if they will still be shooting their upcoming album and comeback-related material in LA. They still have to take care of the issue in regards to their return trip first. And if that issue is taken care of, then it would be quite expensive for their company to purchase tickets again.

:rlytearpls:

Because I'm seeing a lot of confusion as to why they were detained and then sent back, I will try to clarify:

"They said that they had everything in order. They don't need a performance visa if they're not holding a solo concert, so they had the correct visa.

The issue happened when customs misunderstood the relationship between the girls and the managers. They were asked what their relationship was and one one of the staff said "sisters" when they weren't blood related and so the border patrols starting getting really suspicious and that's why they were held back."

...

From WM's statement:

The company was detained for a long period of 15 hours, and we decided to go back to Korea because of the members who were tired physically and emotionally.

A lawyer in the U.S. is taking the effort to make sure the unjust treatment of being detained is valid or not. We sincerely apologize for causing anxiety and thank everyone who worried for us.

That staff member probably feels like shit right now. Tried doing 2 things at once and accomplished none in the end.  :unimpressed:

But it makes monetary sense to spend time filming for their upcoming album shoot since they were going to perform there anyways.

Actually I am happy for them. Just imagine them siting in plane again all stressed if they will or wont be allowed to enter and if they will or wont be treated as prostitutes again. Its better for them to stay in Korea and rest.

But it must be sad for fans who already bought tickets.

I just hope people who organize the Gala will understand and wont cause too much problems to them for not being able to attend/perform. :(

me too

I hope they could get a refund tbh cause the ticket is pretty expensive iirc. And feel bad for the girls too since they were maybe really excited to perform in America for the 1st time right? (and this should be their 1st overseas schedule too right?)

It would make more sense for them to get a proper visa when visiting America (especially in its current state) and use their money wisely by hiring an interpreter, no? Don't half ass things or this will be the result.

That really sucks. It was a good opportunity for them. Oh well, I'm sure there will be other opportunities for them in the future.

Um, you realize that it was the staff's fault right?

This is actually such bullshit. It's such a missed opportunity for Oh My Girl and their company are idiots not to handle their first trip into the US correctly.

Pretty much this.

This is why I can't rely on Kpop companies for overseas events because shit like this happens
