The comedian announced via People Magazine that she and her husband Kevin Simon are now expecting their first child together thanks to surrogate Shawna Johnson. “We are over the moon,†the self-proclaimed “Queen of YT†said of her happy news. “To say, ’What Shawna is doing for us is the greatest gift,’ is an understatement. She truly is an angel in our lives and we will be forever grateful to her for her generosity toward us.†GloZell has been open about the process leading up to her much-anticipated pregnancy confirmation, having vlogged about her first experience visiting a fertility clinic last April with optimism. “I’ve been married since August … it’s been nine months, so I was like I’m over 40, so I don’t know, I’m thinking I don’t have a chance. Or maybe I have a chance? I don’t know. So, I went to a doctor just to see,†she told her fans. She then made dietary and lifestyle changes to optimize her health. “I think this is going to work out.†After months of effort, though, GloZell finally decided to opt for the surrogacy route, and to make sure that she gets to be a part of the “bonding [that] happens in those first nine months,†Green’s surrogate will let the baby listen to her videos — which means s/he will be born with momma’s signature funny bone, for sure!
