☆ THE OFFICIAL WJSN's CHENG XIAO (성소) THREAD ☆ Watch Legend Of The Awakening

Some rumors about other wjsn members bullying Xiao or "they treat her so badly" appeared on weibo. Esp when they see some Xiao's pics with those bruises today, those rumors even worse. Can somebody in here tell me what actually happened? Why are those rumors coming out?

Weibo fans may be a bit over protective of Xiao. Xiao seems to be really close to Eunseo and Bona. I would find it hard to believe that other members would be able to bully her with those two around. She also seems close to Yeoreum and Xuanyi. Then again I never presume to know these kpop groups because so much is show. I guess someone at the fansign needs to provide receipts instead of spreading rumors.

Yes, I was like "Erh?" when I heard about those rumors. But some Xiao's new fans actually believe in it *sigh*

Well I think alot of Xiao.fans are angry about the line distribution so many, especially Chinese fans, appear to be upset with alot of things. It's hard to keep something like bullying secret for long. If it's true we will find out. But she seems to be like by so many girls in the group. I really doubt this.

I think Xiao's Chinese fans are taking things to another level. I mean, I get that they are angry because she does not have much lines and that they want her to promote in China and they are worried about her, her career and her health, but saying that the other members bully her is out of line. If they were a fan of the whole group they would see that everyone in they group care about each other, and Xiao is not an exception, you can see how close she is with Eunseo, Bona, Yeoreum, Dayoung, and even if we don't see much interaction with the other girls like, Seola, Dawon, Luda and Yeonjung, I'm pretty sure they care about each other, and I'm sure Xiao would not be happy hearing those rumours about being bullied and hit by her members, so I hope this stop, I know they want the best for Xiao and want better treatment when it comes to public recognition by starship, but spreading those false rumours is way out of line and I'm sure totally false.

Yes. You hate seeing that because it could start divisions beteeen parts of the fandom. Thankfully they didn't say a specific person was bullying her. That's a serious claim and shouldn't be thrown around without evidence. Look what happened with T-ara.

I think as the group and members become more popular we just have to get used to hearing all types of rumors, especially with a large group.

Ikr :derp: I don't think that's too comfortable

I've noticed that in alot of her performance outfits they are leaving noting to the imagination in the breast area. I guess they feel she's old enough so they are going to show them off. But yeah it doesn't look compfortable at all.

I saw the discussion yesterday but it was late and I've a lot to say about the weibo mess and such.

Btw this is FatCat I changed my username and recently came out of lurking again.

I don't claim to be a expert on c-fan culture but I've read stuff from there for some time and this is just my objective view as an i-fan.

Firstly, I know where did the bullying claim came from. If I'm not mistaken, what I saw was likely the main source and this actually happened twice. The first time was around Secret era or so (not too sure since the post was deleted) and the second time was during I Wish era. The claim insinuates that the so-called 'bullying' was pre-debut or if later, during Momomo era. There was no explanation or receipts given.

So how did it blow up? This is purely based on my one-sided observation:

1) First time the claim appeared, WJSN was super nugu still. Xiao was barely even known there. So the claim was largely overlooked for kpop fans looking for tea. She actually gained more casual fans during 2nd ISAC which is roughly before the claim happened for the second time.

2) During the second time, there were a few Xiao stans who saw it plus a lot more kpop fans who do not like/do not care about WJSN. The Xiao stans that I noticed did not bash the other members (at least not where I can see) but over time, they started to get a bit antsy and spilled a little here and there whenever they felt unjust for Xiao.

3) But at the main WJSN baidu bar, things are run a little like an authoritarian regime. Negativity is frowned upon and opinions that crossed the line are deleted swiftly. I'm on the fence about this actually. I do like healthy discussions but I understand why they do that. Sometimes strongly skewed opinions set the mood for more negativity to breed and it happens too frequently and too quickly. So they nipped it in the bud before things get ugly within the fandom or with other fandoms.

4) Hence the opinions about unfounded rumors within the main bar never really gained momentum then. Even if their posts were not deleted, other WJSN stans who want to keep the peace will usually tell them to stop it and be rational. This is probably why they might have gone to other avenues like weibo and alternate forums to vent their frustrations.

5) Remember I mentioned that there were kpop fans who do not like/care about WJSN that saw the claim? Some of them love mess not unlike many on OH. They went around spilling tea and adding their own flavor like who they think in WJSN is bullying Xiao because of video X, Y, Z. It's sooo obvious that they're not WJSN stans when they spew rubbish like "oh I watched many videos and Bona does not get along with Xiao". Basically they are masquerading as fans to start a carnival.

6) Now let's not forget the casual fans that Xiao gained from the second ISAC. I call them casual fans because I don't think they contributed anything at all. Not even the minimal contribution to youtube views because they all watched clips uploaded to chinese sites. So this group, who has barely any knowledge of Xiao let alone the whole of WJSN, is the most likely to go with the flow be it hype or bash.

7) Now we can all imagine what happens when the 3 different groups melt together right? Xiao stans with their unresolved emotions, clowns who are ready for a party and casual fans who are entitled to their 2cents worth. Mix them all together and you get a lump of "Xiao stans who are bla bla bla bla bla".

8) I don't think the real Xiao stans have any ill intentions initially but they got carried away by the momentum, they lost the ability to differentiate the clowns and the casual fans because it gave them a louder voice and suddenly it feels like many have the same opinions as them.

Extra

9) Xiao has a dedicated number of haters since the first ISAC (or maybe even earlier idk). I'm not going to speculate where they are from but the c-fans know. But this bunch really does spiteful things. Like stripping admin control from the original Xiao baidu bar by false reporting and then spamming said bar + other bar regularly at night with A LOT of threads about Xiao death coupled with grotesque pictures of dismembered bodies which shows up with the thread title. Like I don't even need to proof to know that these same people are probably the ones trying to spread hate about WJSN.

My conclusion is that there are many rational c-ujungs who care about the group as a whole. They may have their own biases but they know that group + fandom harmony is the way to go. It's not about pretending all 13 girls are BFFs or should be BFFs. There are things fans do notice since My Cosmic Diary but there's no need to harp on or exaggerate things. Whether the girls have their own issues or not they can resolve it on their own it's their job as WJSN. Unless the girls create drama on their own, we shouldn't be the ones doing that for them. Don't feed the clowns and haters material to work with they don't even freaking watch WJSN shows!

Also do understand that almost everything gets chinese subbed so c-ujungs actually see more context than i-ujungs. So if anything happens, let's respect each side's opinions.

Anyway I stopped following the brewing mess around the issue since April because it got too annoying to watch. It's never going to end and I hope i-fans/i-ujungs refrain from bringing the mess here from time to time. There is an increasing no of lurkers on OH who like to take harmless discussions/banter here as gospel and spread it on twitter.

Thanks for the insight. Interesting read. As a fandom we just need to concentrate on helping these girls become a success together so they can continue making music we like. Xiao seems fine to me. All we can do is go by what we know and see. So I'm fine with just leaving it alone.

This fancam picked up alot of views.

Edit: The discussion thread in that vid is a mess though. Starship really screwed the pooch by not giving Xiao a line in Happy. Lol. Alot of new fans came to the group because of her and didn't expect her to have no lines. Many of us who have been around probably didn't have too high expectations about that but new fans wouldn't understand. Thankfully she got lines on the b-side songs which I like the most anyway.

looking at the poll in this thread it's interesting that xiao has more female fans here, i've seen more male fans in other places such as twitter and irl :rlytearpls:

Aren't there more females on OH in general though? I don't tend to ask if someone is a girl or boy but based on the conversation I can eventully pick up that someone is a girl or boy. It appears that most of the regulars around here are girls.

I am curious about the percentage of male to female WJSN fans in general though.

I would like more insight into how it was before Xiao, MeiQi and Xaio came to Starship.

 mess! Xiao is probably tired of Eunseo playing around with all the girls and Yeoreum is probably tired of Xiao waiting for Eunseo   I love both ships

Whaa!! I would love to se Xiao/the girls dancing and singing to superbass :la:  I think it would be interesting

Thank you for all the spam @yujuwon :chu:

It's sounds like a very good K-drama. I want more. Lol.

That C-Ujung dedication though. :rlytearpls:

Really. Her Chinese base is hardcore. Starship has not really capitalized on that yet. They don't seem to want her to leave Korea. But I'd promote Xiao in China to help build a strong platform for WJSN in China.

My chinese is not good but Starship refused coffee truck from CXCN on her birthday? Wae? CXCN seems very sad T_T

Why would SS not want the promotion and just sinple fan service from something like that?

I love dying and being deadXiao is of course pushed for this promo, but will she get any lines? :donthinkso:

Of course. They use Xiao for her face then give her nothing. Let's see if this will be different. And don't talk to me about vocal ability. If Sana, Momo, Seolhyun and Hyeri can get multiple lines in songs, they can at least give Xiao one or two real lines. Especially if they are going to plaster her face everywhere to promote it.

Xiaosus got lines and was an awesome center in the MV!! She looked so beautiful â¤ï¸â¤ï¸

Sent from my iPhone using OneHallyu

Yes, and that's all Xiao fans asked for.We didn't ask for special treatment or alot of lines. We just don't want her to look like a glorified backup dancer on stage. How hard would it have been to do this on Happy.

xiao singing y'all!! :rlytearpls: :rlytearpls:

she has such a sweet voice ;;

That was so cute and insightful. Feel I know a little more about Xiao. I hope they all get more promotions in China. Would be a waste of three Chinese members if they don't.
