YG Entertainment chief Yang Hyun Suk is the wealthiest celebrity in South Korea, according to Chaebol.com.

The South Korean website that tracks the country's primarily family-run conglomerates released its list of the wealthiest celebrities on Monday. The top three people on the list were all the heads of Korean entertainment agencies.

YG Entertainment's Yang, SM Entertainment founder Lee Soo Man, and FNC Entertainment's CEO Han Seung Ho came in the top three spots on the list.
Yang Hyun Suk was ranked at the top of the list with assets of $159 million USD. The gap between Yang and SM Entertainment's Lee Soo Man narrowed, after Yang's assets went down by 2% whereas Lee's estimated value rose by 19%.

YG Entertainment is home to Psy, Big Bang, 2NE1 and several other popular Korean acts, while SM Entertainment houses Girls' Generation, Super Junior, EXO, f(x) and more. Both companies have multiple subsidiaries and have their hands in acting, business, fashion, and cosmetics along with the K-pop industry.
Chaebol.com assessed Lee's worth near $154 million USD.
JYP Entertainment's founder Park Jin Young came in sixth place.
The list also included actor-businessman Bae Yong Joon, musical actress Ham Yeonji, actress Kyeon Mi Ri, actress-entrepreneur Go Hyun Jung, and actor Jang Dong Gun.

I think FNC is ready to snatch JYP's spot

Crying.

Big chances are he's releasing all his major acts next year to make sure he's still on top.

big3 title is about companies that wrote and still write their names on KPOP scenario, not about money.

JYPent. is part of Big3 bc of JYP, Rain, Wonder Girls, 2AM, 2PM, GOT7, and the newbiesTwice, Day6

and FNC could take JYP's spot with FT Island, CNBlue, AOA and N.Flying?

edit: I think it's worthwhile to mention the fact that FNC milks a lot their actor-dols (even to overseas market) and it means more money, bc we know that k-dramas>>>>>>k-pop music.

FNC really has grown so much.

SM will still lead in terms of overall company revenue for 2015 with YG trailing closely behind. Sucks for JYP, he doesnt know how to promote his artists well.

Edit: Isnt this all about the CEO earnings? LSM only owns a small portion of stocks compared to YHS who owns majority of YG's stocks so it's understandable that the latter gets more. SM has tons of shareholders that own huge portions of it which is why it seemed like LSM doesnt have that much of we dont consider how significantly small amount of shares he gets compared to other company CEOs.

The title is wrong and very misleading. This has nothing to do about which company is bigger at all.

CEO income =/= company income.

re-reading again, isn't sth strange? bc if you consider how much money the idols of the company make, so SM would be #1.

Big Bang sells a lot, I know, but can Big Bang sales surpass EXO+SNSD+f(x)+SuJu+Shinnee+Red Velvet+ SM solo acts sales?

Ikon sold a lot but YG invested in them a lot too. Winner and Lee Hi didn't have a cb this year.

I think they're considering only personal money, not company's money. Hyun Suk has investiments out of music scenario like clothes and YG food. I think Lee Soo Man only has investiments in SM, just like JYP. And who really knows from where FNC CEO is getting the money (I've read news), I'll assume it's bc he gets the money from actors signed under his company.

and lets not forget they have been contracting lots of popular comedians ( Yoo Jaseuk, Big Nose, Hyungdong) and more.

Kyeon Miri is Lee Yubi's Mom.

BTW, this list is primarily generated based on public record (like stock ownership in Korean companies) so the actual worth oof the celebs is larger.

wah

thts why I saw knetz comment bout she got sponsor from her family or something.
