Group 2NE1 member Gong Minzy gained the title of “Young Woman Warrior†through her appearance on Running Man.

 

On 28th July’s SBS Running Man episode, Gong Minzy perfectly knocked down fellow group members CL andSandara Park and also Song Ji Hyo, and got crowned as the “Young Lady Warriorâ€.

I have to rant. I can't with bj's always talking about how Minzy is just there or how she's dull and boring. These punks don't even give Minzy a chance before writing her off! They never bother to give her a second glance or take interest in her to begin with, so how do they even know any of her charms other than her talent? Just because Minzy is a little quiet and reserved, especially compared to the public persona's of the rest of 2ne1 does NOT mean she is boring. It really irritates me when they praise the rest of 2ne1 to the high heavens but exclude minzy as if she wasn't there or just be shady and say "minzy was umm" or "minzy was just...". I know they're not obligated to like Minzy but I wish they at least try to get to know her or pay attention to her during live perfs and mv's. Its just such a close minded attitude. I use to dislike Dara and found her annoying but when I decided to pay more attention to her, via oh-dara.com, i realized what a little treasure she was and how hard she worked to be where she is today. everyone in 2ne1 brings something to the table through their talents AND personality. In fact the applies to most girl groups, but i digress, I'm just hoping for some fellow minja understanding and support.

I probably sound dumb by asking this, but do you any of you know what KongMinzy.com means when they tell you to dm them your ID/password to join their site? like... how are we supposed to make those when we can't register in the first place? 

 

The admin/master will create your account for you, so you just have to dm them what you want your id and password to be. Once they've created it for you, you'll be able to login using that.

I feel like she has been getting a little more exposure this comeback though. More people are noticing her. But I really want a Minzy solo YG Or at least give her a feature.

Speaking of which, why no one has featured her yet? Every other member of 2NE1 and pretty much everyone else in YG for that matter has done at least one feature and the only time Minzy has come relatively close was with that performance or Missing You, and that was only because it was a last minute thing and GD needed someone ASAP. Do people in YG just not like her voice or something? Because idk why she's always getting ignored by everybody

i'm not sure if I've mentioned this or not before, and if so, sorry for the repeat

 

Frustrates me too. I also can't help but wonder if they really don't like her vocals? So many people love it, what don't they like about it? I wonder if they've even tried using her voice for featurings? Have they even tried exploring with her vocals to see if they really like it or not?  Have they ever let her use it to her utmost potential? Is she really not fit for featurings/solos?  Has she ever been given the chance? Because so far, the only song she's ever been able to showcase the versatility in her vocals in 2NE1 songs is in Falling In Love (maybe ILY?) and she did it wondrously. Why, why don't they give her parts that can allow her to explore more with her vocals? It's not like she's lacking in it. Is she just not given the chance to do that because she's supposed to be the main dancer, because Bom & CL are in the group? Ugh there are so many questions that I want to throw at YG/Teddy/YG Producers >.< 

 

And it also at these times that I think MinzyTV might have been her trying to catch the attention of the people at YGE themselves, to prove to them her capabilities. But I wonder, did they even take notice of it, give her credit for it? :/

 

Trainees (Jennie Kim and that girl in GD's Without You) has more featurings than she who has been in the music industry for 4+ years now.  In fact, I wonder if YG even has any plans for what he's going to do with her for her future career.

 

So sorry for sounding so pessimistic in a reply. And if I'm being repetitive from many pages ago too.

 

There's no doubt about it, there will be a solo song from her, the only question is when. It won't be any time soon probably, but it'll happen. What I'm talking about is how CL has SUpermatch and the park sisters have Doublepark.. What does minzy have?

I agree with everything. Minji is really talented but they aren't expressing her talent. YG can't even give her dance moves to satisfy her dancing talent. >_>

I loved when they went on variety in 2009 and she was the maknae dancing machine that was able to go toe to toe with the guys, but since 2NE1 only does talk shows now it'shard to express yourself especially since Minji's not much of a talker. I'm surprised YG didn't even put Minji TV onto 2NE1's YT account. Even that would get her more exposure in the fandom.

 

I'm so happy that she got to shine in Running Man and I wish she'd be able to do other things like that in the future. If Star Dance battle was still around she could have done that solo like TY and Seungri did in 2009. I feel like YG's missed so many opportunities with not only 2NE1 as a group but with individual members. So ,much that they're hitting their 5th year, are seniors in the industry and haven't done half as much as their peer groups nor the new rookie groups. YG's strategy seemed good at first but not having the girls do individuals activities is coming back to bite him and it's not exactly going well. Hell, just simple CFs and endorsements were offered to 2NE1 from debut, but YG thought they were to good for them and now they have almost none.

 

 

YG definitely lost A LOT of opportunity time for the girls during their debut period where they were arguably at their peak. He could have used the momentum they built up from their debut to let the girls' popularity and recognition peak even more, but he held back. I'd probably understand he might have been a bit hesitant cause they were hmm, how to say this, inexperienced with girl groups, but I think he let it dwindle for too long. And it annoys me that I have this feeling he'll not repeat the same mistake with the new girl group and we'll probably see the new gg doing things that 2NE1 could have done. The girls are pretty much like guinea pigs for girl groups out of YG.

 

Oh gotcha. Yeah hopefully she gets something soon but knowing YG I kinda doubt it...he doesn't really like to use her for some reason and I don't understand why. I used to think it was because of age but she's plenty old enough now so idk

 

 

THIS TOO. Everyone knows she's one of/the best singer in 2NE1, like why has she never got the high notes? Why does she never get the chorus unless it's shared with someone else? I hate to say it but sometimes I think being in 2NE1 kinda holds her back. Don't get me wrong I love 2NE1 to death and I love all the members but she just gets so overshadowed by everyone else ALL THE TIME. I don't know if it's Teddy that doesn't decide to use her vocally or if it's YG but it's sad she doesn't get used to her potential (none of them really do but Minzy is clearly thrown aside the most)

 

And about the trainees having more featurings, I KNOW! I almost said that but left it out. And what I think is REALLY sad if the fact that she has been in YG for SOOOOOOOO LONG and yet hasn't gotten anything. Like I could understand it if she trained for like 2 years so YG didn't think she was ready yet but she trained around the same amount of time that Bom did. Shouldn't someone whose been in the company THAT long get something by now?

Minzy should be at idol championship..well it is not gonna happen..the event held today

I can feel minzy urges to show more of her..but you know YG is supressing her..

For me minzy is talented, she can do better than her unnie

I believe she can do alot of variety shows out there..

Now she passed her GED exam, i hope YG give her the chances

I thought she she should have been at idol championship as well, but when you think about it  it's been underfire a lot for underpar treatment of their idols and the long 24 hour filming hours as well as threats to groups that if they don't go they can't perform at the broadcast station. I wouldn't want Minji to support that. Not to mention we have Mama Mia to look forward to ^_^

 

The filming hours are really crazy and from what I heard, there's been lots of injuries because of it too. Just for this filming, I saw that Tao from EXO injured his back because of his 3rd high jump or something like that - had to be carried out of the stadium and looked like he was about to cry too. I don't think I'd want to see Minji risking that tbh :/
