How Did TVXQ Avoid Intense Controversy?

So it has occurred to me that SNSD and EXO will likely have to pretend that Jessica, Tao, Kris, and Luhan never existed for the rest of their careers. They will have to act like nothing ever happened in fear of a scandal culminating because of their words.

But in multiple interviews, the press seems to hound them on their opinions, to the point where the managers have to step in to interrupt questions/edit out footage.

How did TVXQ maneuver these questions when such a big scandal happened at the height of their careers?

Television QX aren't relevant enough for anyone to really care about a scandal involving them

Nice try when your flop IU combine Bigbang+ Exo+SNSD+Super Junior+2NE1 could not even rival TVXQ!'s Success and Revenue LOL let alone to come close

they did talk about it

I mean the fact that they never said anything really worth the press reporting on, or a fandom dividing statement. I've read interviews and its always just fluff.

But 6 years of it? It feels impossible that they kept everything bottled up in such an explosive time period.

Hmmm.. TVXQ! is very well respected everywhere, hence it alraedy an advantage, people rarely or do not brave enough to bring up about it unless it was requested by TVXQ! to talk regarding it and clear things up.

That show back in 2011 such TAXI or Guru Murapak/G.Fishery needs a months of prep just to talk about it.

Oh well...

it's possible as long as they're in SM

They've been careful/professional and the public sentiment wasn't heavily hating either group... Both sides recovered really well

They didn't avoid it. There was a giant shitstorm before, during and after the split. They were infact called traitors for staying, attacked by their own fandom multiple times and much more. And they released official statements during the mess and did talk about it during their first post split comeback on several tv shows.

Compared to TVXQ, SNSD, EXO and f(x) had a smooth sailing with their members leaving.

pretty much, most people sided with JYJ at the time (including the biggest TVXQ fancafe) and Yunho and Changmin came under intense scrutiny, received multitudes of hateful netizen comments, had people asking them to commit suicide, people insulting and defaming their families, etc. people think they've never said anything about it and have avoided talking about it because of SM, and that they got off lightly because of it, but that's not true as mentioned above - they wrote and signed individual statements outlining their position, their parents wrote statements too, and both have talked about it on a few variety shows (which tbh is notable since TVXQ aren't on that many Korean variety shows anymore).

I think they've said all they need to say, there's no need for them to drag it out repeatedly. not to mention because of Yunho, who's always been the leader for a reason, which is that he's a consummate professional and knows exactly what (and what not) to say when faced with difficult and awkward questions. you're not going to get a shady or insensitive quote out of him, whatever side you're on. both of them are more than aware of the divisions in their fandom

it just seems rosy now because it's been so long since it happened and they've picked up the pieces of their career so well and made such a good, scandal-free impression on the general public since returning as a duo that no one has anything to complain about anymore. except for especially bitter stans of course, but that goes without saying

There has even been controversy about those statements being fake. I remember reading something about SM forging their signatures.  :derp:

lol of course there is. nothing either of them say can genuinely be what they think if it doesn't align with what certain fans want to think, duh. must be SM controlling their lives obv

That broadcast on Golden Fishery show was probably the only show that asked TVXQ serious questions about the other members. I believe Yunho and Changmin didn't give a say on what really happened, but wished best for other members.

Actually.... The whole Korea flipped over them splitting up. AKB48 members were sad af over them splitting up. The Johnnys and LDH were happy on the other hand. But the Whole Asia were in tears, so.... Idk what you are talking about.... TVXQ splitting up really changed the music scenes in two countries.

they said what they needed to say and moved on. no media play or victim play. <br> that is why i respect them and sided with them.

Uh

Jyj didn't sue Homin

They sued sm

Neither the trio nor duo has ever said anything bad about each other, but have called the other out for personal reasons

Both sides were hated and if it wasn't for SM, the duo would have received no hate. People called them cowards for not having the guts to go up against the company and if you have seen what has happened to jyj, you understand why.
