if you read the articles on siliconera/gematsu, it says that she's getting costumes and even the battle victory poses of "someone i don't know and can't remember the name" 

 

yea i don't like it though. Badass Lightning is hotter than any girly sexualized neko version they can make.

haha yea i saw some news about her being more jiggly now or something like that. And of course Square haters jumped in to bash Square for doing that while forgetting the all the fanservice in X/X-2. But they like X so they're not gonna bash that, sigh...

 

now time to read that FF is already dead thread and sigh even more.

I got up to FF is dead. Just remake VII!!! and then just left the thread. 

haha same. Except i couldn't resist to go back and read through it. It's like a gamefaqs thread in there (and that is a negative thing). 

 

Screw remakes just keep making new games. I prefer to play the original versions of games anyways.

oh the Great Crystal, still my most hated FF dungeon. How anybody could get through that place without a map/walkthrough is beyond me.

A Final Fantasy thread, wow!

Btw, an avid FF gamer here. The FFs I've played so far were 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, X, 13 (I'm currently on chapter 13 because of farming) and I'm looking forward playing 13-2.

My favorite FF series are 8, 9, X, X-2 and 13 (though many people say it's linear, but well)

farming is half the game for 13 

I beat the game around 40-50 hrs and got the platinum for it around 120 hrs. But that's also including 5star-ing the missions and wandering around that one place so i could keep listening to Sunleth Waterscape.

sounds like a pretty arrangement.

 

I expect the ost to be pretty good again especially because i saw that they hired Language to do some remixes for some songs for the game.

In my quest to learn more of the series (I only know about X & X-2), I just started watching a Let's Play of 13.

 

The graphics 

regardless of your opinions on current Square games, they will always be one of the best in the industry in graphics. 

 

i recommend you play one of the older games like 4,6,7, or 9. I'm leaving out 8 because it's pretty different from normal FF games with the draw/junction thingy they do, and i never beat it so...

I never played a mmo before but i would have tried it if it was free2play or even if i was given a beta code for ps3. I think open beta is coming up this weekend though. But it's probably way too big a filesize to justify downloading it for just the weekend.

hold up now, did i see Lightning and Fang fighting together? I thought this was going to be Lightning only. I would prefer a party tbh even if you can't control them. It's more fun to watch when other things are going on.

Question about FFXIV: A Realm Reborn... just found out how pricey the subscription is...

 

If for example I buy the 60 days subscription..

 

And for somehow I rested for 1 week just to study for finals... Will 1 week be deducted from my game time?

 

$30 for 2 months... It's like buying a new game altogether....       

I would think it would work like any other subscription plan. You pay for 2 months so you get two months. I don't think it cares whether you play or not during those two months.

hahaha oh i'm sorry but that's funny. And after regaining a lot of support after all the stuff about 14, 15, and KH3, they're gonna piss a lot of people off again.

 

Sucks because it was supposed to be a pretty good game from what i've read people say. I know it was originally a mobile game but a psp version already exists. I don't understand how hard it is to just translate from japanese to english (or other languages). It's a lot of work to translate and it's time consuming sure, but it's still just translating which there are people who do that for a living. 

 

And this is to all japanese companies, not just square.

Oh I forgot to add that this game is a prequel to Type-0. It isn't a mobile port  .

 

Maybe there'll be a bigger chance of this being localised for western markets, but I'm not holding my breath. Unlike everyone else, I do enjoy playing games on my Iphone. Just not games like this which would be enjoyed so much more on systems like the Vita/3DS/etc. 

oh so it's a new game. Well people are bitching for no reason then. I have nothing against mobile games which a lot of "hardcore gamers" seem to. They make money and square is probably still trying to recover from huge losses. 

 

While reading the article on gematsu a thought popped into my head about how square should try making an adventure or visual novel game. They could focus on story telling, it wouldn't be as costly as a regular game, and they could make a profit off it. There's not a huge market for these types of games in the west but there have been some successful ones like 999, it's sequel VLR, the Ace Attorney series, and Walking Dead. And it would probably be pretty easy to put it on IOS, consoles, and vita/3ds.

 

I wonder if there are any Final Fantasy books...

Mobile games are vile. Sorry but I just can't get into them 

sure but there's no legit reason to hate them because obviously there's an audience for them and if they enjoy it well then good for them. 

 

I don't like racing sims but other people do. It's all good.

I agree. Although, I wonder what sacrifices had to be made to make a FF game on iOS

There was one i remember the guys on IGN played where they just moved their fingers up and down the entire time. No thought or strategy to it at all. But i think FF1,2, 4 and probably others are on IOS so they should be enough to handle a real game. Not sure though i don't have a phone capable of playing games so i don't know what's on there

so i broke down and decided to just borrow 13-2 from my friend and play it on the 360. I wanted to play it on my ps3 at first and keep the trophies for all the 13 games on the same console.

 

I'll get it next week and start playing it because i need a break from Dark Souls.

i really liked 13 so i hope i like this also. Even if the story sucks as long as it's fun i'm fine with it. 

 

My friend said it's like only a 10-15 hour game. Is this true? 

 

I'm probably only going to play through the main story unless something interests me along the way.
