If I'm dating someone I'd prefer that they don't talk about our relationship 24/7...or at all because I'm pretty private and I keep important things like that close to me. Plus all the unnecessary drama that comes along with it...especially in college and having a group and friends and acquaintances. It'd be nice if they didn't really use it at all but I feel weird controlling someone like that so I'd only tell them not to post about me. There is so much manufactured reality in social media sites and it seems silly to carefully create an image of your life for others to see and then follow other people who do the same. The people who aren't active on social media are way more attractive because they are private and don't want to publicise what's going on in their life and I love that.
