B sounds fine to the ear, but I think it's not quite grammatically correct when written - should be more like 'and very few are in captivity as a result.' 4. Just as the president [ate], [and] the board made no decisions between the corruption scandal [and] the debt crisis. [No error] This is a very weird sentence. The [ate] is throwing me off. The implication is that the board was (not) making decisions while the president was having lunch or something? 5.
