Would someone's taste in music play a role in your attraction towards them??

For example, let's say you like Kpop (or just pop, overall) but dislike what you  consider to be depressing or just dark-sided music (for example, metal and whatever genre Grimes's music belongs to), but your crush or boyfriend/girlfriend happens to like that type of music and strongly dislikes kpop/pop.

Would this be problematic for you??

they're free to like dislike kpop but as long as they don't criticize the fact that i like kpop -- it's all good

^^this

I like all kinds of genres tho so it's not much of a problem and I've only been into kpop for a little more than a year.

I listen to all sorts of genre but i've always been passionate about old school music, rock and metal since I grew up with those genres and my dad and sisters raised me with those genres. People know that so it's reaallly hard to be open about my love for kpop and it's hard to find anybody who isn't so judgmental about it.

I dated this guy who had his passion in non-mainstream rap and hiphop and just music in general. We exchanged music often. I introduced him to Billy Joel, The Platters, SOAD etc and he introduced me to Capital Steez and old school hiphop. I was reluctant to share about Kpop but what I didn't know back then was that he was also a closet kpop fan. Lol small world but now we're only friends but we jam to the same stuff now.

It's okay whatever my partner's taste in music is as long as they're open-minded and not judgmental even with the differences.

Past boyfriend/friends I had made it clear they didn't but was disrespectful Bout it and made me unhappy so ...something like that ^

Along with this it would be nice if significant other wouldn't mind to try to listen to it but doesn't have to love it
