I mean, right?

I remember when everyone ranted and raved about his "Global Superstar" status when he became an international gag following Gangnam Style and now he's still trying to recreate the same madness with "Daddy". Are y'all fooled by the malarkey or nah?

sort of like kesha who was liked for being the human embodiment of glitter and vodka mess and lady gaga who was constantly gawked at. his act isnt really new in the industry.

He was famous way before Gangnam Style. Also his album contains more than just "daddy", there's a nice variety of tracks in there. He may seem like a meme to most people worldwide but he's well respected in korea.

Plus I don't see what's wrong with being a joke, when people will attach anything to criticize anybody who's super popular. All the most popular entertainers worldwide are criticized to some degree and will get called titles like bitchy (T swift), basic and boring (adele), overrated (rihanna).. these are just a few examples of many

Let people like what they want.

I personally don't like Daddy, which is unsurprising because I was never a fan of Psy, but it actually seems like he's trying less to maintain the 'global superstar' title and just make songs like he used to.

& I really need you to get a dp if you're gonna start making threads, I've told your ass this.

as far as I know he's known for these type of humorous/bizarre concepts with weird dance moves. perhaps you have never checked out psy pre gangnam style.

Another one who didnt listen to the album...

I never liked his music but this album won me over. There are club bangers ofc but I was surprised with his ballad and the diversity he showed in this album. Less "Gangnam style Psy", more like "Real Psy". Haters gonna hate but the album is solid.

wrong.. psy has been like that way since before gangnam style.  he is not trying to recreate shit..that is just how he's always been carefree and fun.. i actually believe that ever since his gangnam style viral hit he has even become more toned down..he used to be more fun and carefree but now he waters it down a bit . check out all his other videos before gangnam style. this is who psy has always been way before  he joined yg entertainment and way before the so called "international fame" and even without the fame he will still continue to be what he wants.

and he has always had huge sold out concerts and was popular to korean general public.. almost everybody knew him in korea since long ago its just international fans and international people in general who only started knowing him since  gangnam style that always think or believe he is trying to one up gangnam style or whatever.

lol Everyone has always known he's a massive gimmick. It's always been that way.

He just happens to release eccentric talk-singing earworms that people for some reason love.

Like I get Kpop is weird and nerdy but I don't like elevating him to an icon of Kpop cause he's not at all a good representation of it.
