Hm, hm, hm, maybe this should be the official thread for their physicals and digitals? Like other acts on here have their threads with their physicals + digitals combined. I'll be posting the 1st week downloads and streams here soon.

do you happen to know what second week was like for pt 1?

Pt.1 (2nd week):

Downloads:

INU - 77,092

Hold Me Tight - 13,596

Streaming:

INU - 2,292,036

My notion is that the heavy competition pushed Run off the charts, therefore there was less exposure, as opposed to INU era where a lot of artists didn't go for releases because they wanted to avoid BigBang.

How much did they sell today?

And the fact that I NEED U was downloaded more becasue it was a more public friendly song as compared to RUN. I wish Bighit would have chosen BUTTERFLY as the title song because that is flawless and I hope they choose Baepsae as a follow up!

I Really want an aesthetic MV for Butterfly though :(

There's also the heavy competition. INU had far less competition within its release compared to Run--as a matter of fact, I myself am surprised with the number of new releases from different artists. This number of new releases hasn't happened in a while. It pushed Run off the charts, and there was therefore less exposure.

Next time, Bangtan should comeback when there is less competition for more exposure.

The problem is with Bangtan's comeback is the concert tours are scheduled months before and those kinda set the time of the comeback for them, they can't really change much up. Maybe a week give or take, but they can't play much with it, so they pretty much just have to ignore the competition in some sense, and just focus on themself.

In a way, should I say that tough competition is not necesserily a problem?

This way they stay hungry since the success won't just easily fall into their lap.

Hopefully it will drive them more to keep on releasing great albums.

Tough competition plays a huge factor. Like I said, I haven't seen so many releases at the same time in a while--I am genuinely surprised, actually.

This is true. In a way, this will make them work harder for a better title track. I myself feel as though this title track was lacklustre compared to INU (though lyrically, this is one of their best title tracks). There's next year. People always do better when they work hard for something, instead of having the success handed down to them.

oh i wanted to ask you

how do you think run is holding up longevity wise compared to inu? i dont really know how that song did

I Need U > Run in downloads so far.

Run's been holding out for 7 weeks with 305,000+. I Need U in 7 weeks had 345,000+.

I Need U charted for 12 weeks in the Top 100 downloads.

you reckon run could stay there for 12 weeks?

I'd say maybe 3 more weeks at best = 10.

But the thing is around that time (Summer) downloads were cheaper (there was some discount or something), so you sort of can't compare it. It was a bit easier to get them (the same could be said for other groups). Downloads are a higher at that time, which is why there were a lot of comebacks (June-July).

I Need U's chart run for comparison:

#5: 93,790

#7: 77,092

#14: 53,282

#31: 40,725

#31: 32,541

#42: 28,769

#56: 22,020

#57: 18,853

#66: 19,166

#71: 19,775

#89: 17,612

#95: 16,109

#98: 13,775

Total: 453,509

This....isn't accurate. The downloads are, but the rankings in the Top 100 aren't.

And I Need U has a 13th week (2015.07.19~2015.07.25)? It only charted for 12 weeks.

Also, I Need U has 464,248 charted downloads.

Can I ask, thos numbers on the diagram (37,9 k for 01.21) are the number of unique listeners daily?

Because I have been checking out time to time, and just out of curiosity checked out other groups too, and ever since I have been checkint out BTS never had under 34k daily, while out of curiosity I checked out the other boygroups on the sidelines and I noticed even above 20k daily numbers, and that made me surprised (since some of them does overall better digitally than BTS).

So I just wanted to ask what the number on the graphs represents?

It's search trends. I think I clarified it on the BTS thread. Merely search trends, but you can view it as potential listeners (because it can sort of translate to that, in a way).

^^ Add to that, their 10s decreased by 1%, 20s increased by 2% and 30s increased by 3% (40s and 50s likely decreased). LOL. This is just how I remember it, though.

oh yea this section

국내 남성 그룹

I never really check that page, only when you update the thread

but when does that section update and what's it really about? Is that what nevermind was talking about?

The one Nevermind was talking about was this: http://www.melon.com/search/trend/index.htm

You can check it out for other acts by clicking on the button located next to their names.

That means male groups, btw (the name of the section you're talking about).

Do any of you guys have the downloads info for BTS' old tracks (like 2013)?

Like I haven't really seen it around, and I just checked:

No More Dream - 49,068

N.O - 37,720

Too bad the source I have hasn't updated 2014, 2015, and 2016. We would have seen more downloads including b-sides as long as they were included in the Top 200 in that month (which was the case for other big groups at that time in 2012/2013, etc.).

The 2015 Gaon year-end digital chart shows that I Need U has thus far accumulated 617,193 downloads in total, though? Or do you mean something else by "charted downloads"?

Charted downloads = Weekly/Monthly downloads. Their Weekly downloads are actually less (well, that's normal anyway).

When it's the year end, downloads that didn't chart over the weeks/months are also part of the year-end (like those 150,000+ extra downloads came from the months of August-December, but they didn't chart weekly/monthly).

Which is why it's a good thing if acts get to be part of the Top 100, because you get to know about the downloads you might miss (otherwise, we'd be stuck with BTS getting 150,000+ less).

You can actually check out how they're doing overall here: http://www.melon.com/search/trend/index.htm

Like you can see through the list and right now ë°©íƒ„소년단 is at #11. Just click on the icon located next to the name (which means trends) and you can see it. You can also check how they did a few months ago/a year ago by looking at the buttons above and you have other acts as material for comparison too.

Downloads:

#94: Run - 17,399

Streams:

#64: Run - 829,124

Lol, hopefully it holds on for next week. It probably will considering there were over 30 new releases this week (b-sides that are likely to drop off), when it's usually only around 15.

We should actually make this BTS' official chart and sales thread or something. Not just for Pt.2, but for future albums and releases as well.  :ohbi:
