Congrats to the Caps. Now we can see if Ovie catches the all time goal mark and he doesn't have to get swamped by expectation and defeat over not getting a cup in his career. No one will ever be able to say from now that he wasn't able to win the big one, even though hockey is a team game through and through.

(Probably would've gave Kuznetsov the Smythe.)

Sens are a shitshow right now. They're pretty much forced to lose Hoffman and may very well lose Karlsson as well anyway

I just read up on the Hoffman situation and jfc it's far past the point where I feel sorry for Ottawa fans, why do the hockey gods hate them so much? Surely it can't get any worse right?

Doesn't seem like Hoffman will break up with his crazy gf as well unfortunately. I really wonder what his trade value is now, just have to wait and see I guess.

Galchenyuk to Arizona and Max Domi to Montreal. One-for-one. I don't know why Montreal makes this trade, Domi's only a year younger and is LW just like Galchenyuk was?

His whole world is probably flipped upside down rn, the woman he's been with for ten years is accused of some nasty stuff, defending her is tough and accepting she did it is even tougher. He's probably got few allies in the Ottawa locker room at the moment, no doubt he'll need to be traded but for what at this point...

Can't put anything past Bergevin, just keeps finding new ways to disappoint Montreal fans kek

Hoffman is a good player and I think he can still fetch a decent return but his trade value has definitely tanked, idk how many GMs would want to risk having him on their team. I know I wouldn't want him with the Flames, too much of a risk that he'll be a locker room cancer.

The implosion of the Sens commences (continues). Absolutely brutal return in exchange for Hoffman. Biggest return was a way to save money while still hitting the cap floor and getting a marginal player in return.

Still have a multitude of questions in what year to give up their pick. As in give up the 4th this year and hope you are not worse next year or take the pick and hope you don't finish in the cellar next year. RFA Stone concerns, what to do with Karlsson and that albatross of a contract in Ryan that no one wants but Ottawa supposedly keeps trying to stick in deals.

They can't commit to a rebuild while Colorado holds their 1st in 2019, but if they give up 4OA then even if they finish dead last next year they still, at best, guarantee themselves 4OA only. Look at Phoenix and Vancouver who've been bad for years but never got a pick inside the lottery. With the rumors that Montreal goes with Kotkaniemi there's a chance that 4OA 2018 becomes Zadina.

Doesn't watch awards shows anyways, too much embarrassment for my tastes.

Just waiting for some deals to be made and some fresh blood to be drafted. Then we can all speculate and banter on who is gonna be first and who is going to be last.

Draft day today, hopefully your team gets what they want.

For the Leafs I want to see us draft a D or C. If Ryan Merkley is available at 25 I trust that the Leafs have done their due diligence to decide if he's worth the gamble or not. If not I'd like to see us trade down for Jake Wise.
