Do you think that social skills have to be conditioned at a young age?

I mean if someone who didn't interact with people a lot when they were kids, would you think they would be somewhat socially awkward when they are old.

I think it is harder to learn social skills when a person is older rather than when they are young. I think social skills is ideal to be taught at a young age.

I think of it as it is like the concept of language acquisition  .

I think social skill is a thing that you can pick up well regardless of age

From my experience, the biggest changes of social behavior happen in the 16-21 age bracket. Sure, if they are naturally extroverted it can help, but a lot can change, even in adults.

I agree. I was super shy when I was young and I'm pretty shy irl now, at the same time I have conditioned my social skills a bit. For me, it's just a matter of being able to step outside of my own comfort zone. Of course, I have a lot to work on, but I'm getting there.

Absolutely.

Taking a look at myself for example lol, I am very very reserved, and always have been, making me hard to talk to people. My brother was the same too, but when he went off to university, he came back a lot more open and different

I'm just hoping I will be like that too after I head off to university..
