Coming from a big agency is definitely useful in becoming popular, but netizens pointed out that some of today’s most popular idols have come from smaller companies.

Despite not having the same resources or name recognition to promote as heavily as some groups from larger companies, three of the hottest groups in the industry have proven that bigger isn’t always necessarily better. With hard work and great personalities, the members of the groups definitely have their own special appeals that have helped them on their way to fame. A post praising the groups’ success has become quite popular online.

Small may not be the right word. Poor? At least poorer than BTS' company.

I agree on that one. Actually out of the three groups I only see Mamamoo coming from a small agency. Both BTS and GFriend agencies have a big big big backup of important people, even if the company is new. Like when Steve Jobs stepped down on Apple and started Pixar, Pixar was a new company but definitely not a small one

True true. Even though Mamamoo comes from a small company, they also have big backing being labelmates with Geeks who are fairly popular in Korea along with mutliple collabs during their debut.

I can't wait to see a group go from nugu to popular like EXID/Girl's Day

There is no "important person" backing gfriend. Where do yall get this info from? Theres literally only them their ex-manager CEO and like 3 workers. Theyre from a small nugu company plz.

idk about bts or gfriend but mamamoo didn't come from a small company, their ceo is one of the biggest producers in kpop

I agree

Mamamoo is under Rainbow Bridge World, but Rainbow Bridge World is also under Loen ent... and Loen is huge. IU, Fiestar, GsD, EXID, it may not have the ideal list of people under the label when it comes to fame but they're rich af. This would be like putting Infinite here, sure they started off from bieng in a small company but Woollim is with SM now (not in the same way RBW is with LOEN but still, you get my pont) so it wouldn't make sense to put them here.

Their company is still small though. The people who created Gfriend used to work in SM. The difference is they used their connections properly and not let them go to waste.

Mamamoo isnt under Loen. They are under CJE&M who is only their distributor.

LOEN and CJE&M are distributors for the majority of kpop acts and soloists. It makes perfect sense to put Infinite. Woolim only merged with SM C&C last year. Why does that suddenly discount their breakthrough achievements from a small company?

EXID comes from Shinsadong Tiger, though...

The fact that their CEO is the ex manager of DBSK and SNSD and are backed by SM and all the contacts he had from that time?
