isnt there a contract with SBS or whatever that every winner of kpop star should debut before the next season of kpop star ends? . correct me if im wrong but i keep hearing bout this. if that's so, that's why akmu should debut before kpop star 3 ends.

Yeah, there's a contract like that, which is why it was confirmed sometime ago that AkMu will debut this month on KPOP Star. ^^

Oh man, oh man, oh man...I wish these girls debut soon, haha. Danny (from 1TYM, just in case anyone needs that lol) said that Lydia Paek's been teaching singing + dancing to these girls, so I'm quite interested to see the effects of that. I would love it if some of her performance attitude ends up rubbing off on them. I hope she makes a song for them too.

They've been spotted over at the new YG building several times last year, so I think they would've worked on some music at the least - if not for the debut album, but just in order to solidify their lineup. You can't just confirm the group without making sure they can produce something good together - just like 2NE1 with Pretty Boy for example.

 

Most of the time the old YG building is for the usual trainee activities and stuff - the more mundane sort of thing. It's pretty much the training facility.The new building is usually more often used for working on music or practicing stuff for comebacks, etc - basically where the more important things happen.

The wait has been so long. I'm sick of all these false alarms.

I don't think that these girls will be delayed until next year. Things are positioned better now for a debut this year, especially with the other companies looking to debut their own girl groups since everyone's scrambling and trying to let their girl groups take over the spots being left behind by the senior ones. Competition keeps things going and helps bring attention. Just because YG is not really talking about them, that doesn't mean they're forgotten. If anything, I prefer him keeping things down low like this. Look at how YG took everyone by surprise with WIN last year and then also followed it soon after with WINNERTV. He also kept things down low with 2NE1's album too. 

 

Plus, GD is totally free right now for the most part. He already helped make a song for 2NE1's album (even with just lyrics), and without a doubt he's going to be making a song for this girl group so that YG can hype the hell out of that bit of information for this group. YG may be overly cautious and also very annoying, but he's also an opportunist when the time calls for it.

The IPO/Stock Listing thing that Jess mentioned was from 2011. Su:Pearls didn't get signed onto YG until 2012. Even if YG had eyes already for Su:Pearls due to pre-filmed things such as the audition, etc., they wouldn't be included in his plans for the future since they wouldn't have been on his label yet. 

 

he shouldn't have let go of supearls. he only got a lot more hate after he did that and brushed everything off to focus oh lee hi, which he did a great job at it btw.

 

Pushing back the girls' debut will not only create time for them to improve on themselves,

it also diminish the hype he created for them two years ago. People will forget who they are, would they even care about the girls?

 

Cuz I see a whole lot of updates about Winner and even Team B, but nothing about the girls (or AM) at all, which is a sad thing.

I really hope YG prepared some side projects like including them in performances of collaborations.

Even though he said "members are already confirmed", anything can happen.

For example, SuPearls.

 

Depends on where you're looking for updates tbh. AM is much more active in comparison to Team B, it's just that Team B has the dedicated fangirls to keep on reporting on them.

For the most part, I think a lot of you just need to chill and stop worrying over this group and other trainees. It's really not worth your time and effort considering that the debut process isn't a single percent in our hands. If any of you are looking for a perfect group too, I think you're looking in the wrong place. 

 

Anyway, just to end, let me just say that I'm 200% here for a girl group that will dance like this every once in awhile:

Well...uh, looking at it on the bright side, with more things cleared out of the way, that leaves room for the girl group and fewer people to contend with for time on the YGE calendar. Besides, I think they're supposedly scheduled for the second half of 2014 right?

 

I guess what we can hope for the most right now would maybe be an MV appearance or an album feature. It may not happen, but either of those things are certainly more likely than a debut right now.

At this point im more nervous on how these girls will get promoted. For some odd reason YG has no idea on how to promote girls continuously. Lee hi is still new and she is already nowhere to be found. Lee hi to me has the potential to be around IU popularity , but she won't ever get anywhere near that level since we never really see her. Its like for YG if you don't promote music then you'll just stay in the dungeon until you have something out.

 

 This girl group will have a lot of competition in the future. Lots of gg rising, older groups are still alive and kicking and  sm\jyp\cube will try to get their new groups to be the new IT group of the industry. YG need to go all out with them and not just for one year but for years to come. The way he promoted 2ne1 fucked a lot with their lack of solid korean fanbase and i don't want the same for this gg. They need a normal fansite for the group as a whole, organized fanbase, people that will actually go and support them in  music shows, will vote for them etc.

 

OT so I'll just keep it in spoilers.

 

 

Honestly, I love her, but Hayi doesn't really have the personality to just go out and about and promote on her own in the way that a lot of people would like. Just seeing her in a video with Taeyang and Daesung, Daesung kept trying to compliment her and talk to her, and she pretty much just shied away from him entirely, lol. She did quite a bit of stuff last year though, and she's been appearing on KPOP Star quite regularly for the past few months. Granted, maybe she could appear on those singing shows, but idk with that. 

 

Her strongest point is her voice and her music, and I think that's just something she's working on right now. After all, unlike most artists, she didn't really get much of a training period, so that's what she's getting now. Also, idk if you've noticed, but she's around Lydia Paek a lot. I don't think that's a coincidence, especially since she said herself that she wants to compose her own music. I think she's probably working on that right now rather than promoting herself.

 

 

With YG promotions, it's more like, if you want to do it, you have to find your own ways to do it. It's something these girls will just have to adapt to. If they want to be seen, then they have to make it clear that they want to have activities, etc.

I totally understand what you are saying about her personality. Since im a 2ne1 fan i saw how their shy personalities often hindered them from doing certain things. I guess i don't want to see the same happen with lee hi.  I personally would like to see her get push. Sometimes thats all we need a push. Suzy didn't decide to be an actress, she didn'T want it but she got push and now has 2 hit drama's and movie. I would like to see lee hi get push and see what she can do. If she still can't take it\too shy at least i would be able to say well they tried and keep it moving. I think thats what get to me. The fact that YG never tries much for girls outside of music. 2NE1 girls would probably be much more confident in themselves had they spread their wings earlier in the business. They themselves know it as they tried for awhile now to get some gigs outside from 2ne1 and have been wanting to appear on tv more since last year. If YG had push them even when they didn't want to they wouldn't have to play catch up now.

 

Lee hi doesn't need to appear in a thousand shows,  but she should at least get to sings some ost's  to keep her name out there. More appearances means more chance of getting some cf deals, meaning more money for her.

 

Im glad to hear that she plan on composing. At least she won't have to rely on producers to make all of the songs in the future. Since YG is slowly getting more people on his roster better polish on those composer skills. Pretty happy to hear that actually.

 

 

 

I agree that YG should be giving people more of a push. He really prefers to just leave people alone when it comes to their activities tbh. It's really either sink or swim with YGE. It's pretty much the opposite of SM where they push their idols onto a lot of things, lol. If you want to do something, you have to work for it. Like you said, I do think people need a push sometimes, a vote of confidence in them. Not everyone will really have the courage to just go and start putting themselves out there. 

 

With Hayi though...I'm waiting for Akdong Musician to debut first. I think it'd be nice for them to be sort of packaged together in a sense. Hayi seems close to them, so perhaps they can perform at events together, etc. From what I've noticed with Hayi, YG does tend to group her in with other people, which I think does work for her right now. Like she had her Vitamin Water CF with Tablo, and the LG Optimus Smartphone thing with Kim Bumsoo and Park Myungsoo. Hayi has an event this April too with WINNER & 2NE1 as well.

Well, I'm feeling more inclined to believe this because of the source. 1998 isn't that young. 16 for non-Koreans, and 17 for Koreans. If she was as young as Soohyun from Akdong Musician, then I'd find that to be really young lol.
