Darius 8,485
Jinny really reminds me of tiffany early days. Except paler. But yeah, I get what you mean.
Darius 8,485
eunbi is obviously still under YGE, she signed an exclusive contract which means her future is more secure. Quoting this to point out that while it does make her future at least a little more certain, it doesn't really mean anything in the end. YG almost certainly has a clause in the contract that allows him to let her go at a moment's notice. The facts are that Eunbi isn't getting any younger and YG is taking his time with this group. What are the possibilities that Hanna was brought in as a 'partner' or maybe even a replacement for Eunbi? Pretty girls are a plus but so far it seems like they lack the skills to carry the group. Two good vocalists would go a long way. Edited May 12, 2014 by Rotjoch
Darius 8,485
This girl is really cute with minimal make-up. The pic w/ heavy make-up a few pages back made her look like a Japanese hooker :| YG should probably start releasing more info on the group 2+ years of waiting gotten err body with a thirst that needs to be quenched And make the same mistake he's been making for the past 3 years? He shouldn't release shit until he's 100% certain the line-up is final and their debut is in the final stages imo. This chick literally had every sns account. The SNS generation... I'm glad I finished school before social media became an integral part of society. 2
Darius 8,485
Why people act like Eunbi is old?? She and Mino are both 93line and Jinwoo is even older... I just hope she is still under YG, it will be unfair if he kicked her, she has been train for like 4 years, she deserves Life isn't fair. You have to look at it in context of the group. YG wants to debut a group of pretty girls and has shown that he intends to make their looks one of the main selling points of this group. Besides the fact that Eunbi doesn't have her looks working in her favor, the pretty girls all happen to be 4-5 years younger than her too. On top of that YG is taking his sweet time molding this group and that isn't working in Eunbi's favor. As of right now, I don't think she's going to get cut, but if they don't debut this year I reckon the chances of that happening will increase a lot. Especially now that YG has the option of adding Jang Hanna, who is basically a 6yr younger version of Eunbi. Darius 8,485
Sandara and Bom debuted when they were 26.. YG doesnt care that much about age It has been established countless times that YG is departing from his usual standards when it comes to this group. I'm willing to bet that age does matter in this case. Especially the fact that Eunbi is 4-5 years older than every other member. If there were other members in between that gap it wouldn't be that much of an issue but she's the only one. Darius 8,485
And i am willing to bet age doesnt matter.. Eunbi will be part of the girl group. unless she has attitude problems. I think you want her to be in the group so bad that you fail to see the situation for what it is. Producing a kpop group is expensive and usually a long-term investment. Seeing how YG is going about debuting them and being extremely calculative about everything, i'd say its obvious he has a lot riding on this group having long term success. More than usual. Now imagine Eunbi debuting with this group... In 5 years time all the girls will be 21-22y/o while Eunbi will be 28. See the problem here? Her age severely limits their long-term potential. SNSD members are all reaching the mid-20s mark and they're already being called ahjummas. You might say: "Well, who cares what they say?" but make no mistake. It matters, a lot. Most Kpop groups are all about public perception, especially girl groups. I'd say Eunbi making the final cut is 50/50 as of now. If they don't debut this year then those chances will decrease quite a bit. She'll be 23 going on 24 next year in Korean age. Darius 8,485
well dont you remember that jisoo will be 19 this year (20 this year)? i do understand what you mean about how age matters, but she's just 2/3 years older than jisoo, jennie and possibly chaeyoung. 3 of them will be 26, 24, 23 in the next 5 years Is her birth year confirmed to be 1995 tho? She could be 18 going on 19 by the time they debut, which is a big difference from 23. With girl groups, they really want to debut groups as young as possible. The thing that makes me suspicious is that we've seen/heard very little if anything about Eunbi in the past year. Darius 8,485
I wouldn't put it past YG to just easily let her go. I mean, he kept Jinwoo out of all this time and he's even older than Eunbi. I would think how long you've been a committed trainee takes precedence over whether or not 1 member's age would matter. But I do get what you're saying and have honestly thought about it myself a few times. Yeah, she's not getting any younger ... You're not allowed to say stuff like this and not include pics In the end I don't think how long you've been a trainee accounts for much. If a trainee of 6 months seems like a better fit than a trainee of 4 years, then that's all that matters. YG signing Jang Hanna is suspicious to me because of articles hinting at her being included in this group. The fact that she has a similar skillset as Eunbi and is able to fulfill her role if necessary further adds to my suspicions that something is going on. When is the last time we even heard about/saw Eunbi? I think it's suspicious she's never spotted out while these other girls are. It's not like she's some hidden gem we're not supposed to know about yet. Edited May 12, 2014 by Rotjoch
Darius 8,485
She's not and IDK why a few ppl are even throwing her age into the equation of her debuting with this group. Bom and Dara debuted at 25/26 with a 15 and 18 yr old in the same group. Refer to my earlier post: It has been established countless times that YG is departing from his usual standards when it comes to this group. I'm willing to bet that age does matter in this case. Taking into account the type of group YG is trying to create, I think it's a real possibility that Eunbi might not make the final cut. It's just that some of y'all don't like thinking about these kind of things so you act like it's not even a remote possibility. Why can't I discuss things without others going all "uhh yeah idk why ppl do ___ it's not gonna happen"? It's annoying tbh. guys just accept that eunbi is part of this group. i think shes beautiful and talented. eunbi is 21 this year, after ten years (their 10th anniversary) eunbi will just 31 years old. and besides, YG will debut another girl group, maybe 5 years after this group. so please lets not blame eunbi if shes 2-3 years older than the others. eunbi fighting :D Way to miss the point. I'm merely discussing a situation that may arise in the future. I have no problem with Eunbi, in fact she is my favorite member so far. That doesn't mean i'm going to ignore certain facts however. I think her spot among the final line-up is not certain by a long shot and went into detail why I think so. I haven't paid attention to this group in like a year so I got a bit wiser from this discussion realizing that the age difference is not as big as I previously thought, but I still think ultimately her spot is up in the air. Darius 8,485
Jinny? Really? I just hope that it's not going to be her stage name. Anyway she seems really nice and pretty with a bubbly personality but If I were to be honest, out of all the girls that's been 'rumoured' as of to be in the new gg; she'd be the last one in my list. She is gorgeous and all but nothing out of extraordinary or the 'x' charm. She might just prove me wrong with her rapping though. As for hanna, doesn't matter how good her singing is; she would just be too out of place if ever were to be added to this group. Literally wouldn't make any sense. Also, praying that YG hasn't gotten rid of eunbi yet cas if he did/does then that would be such a shame and his loss. Jin is a nice name, she should go with that. That Woollim GG member will be irrelevant in 6 months time anyway. 1
Darius 8,485
Irene from sm rookies is 23 yrs old already and no one is losing their minds bcuz of it. Some t-ara members qri, boram and soyeon all debuted around 22-23. Victoria from fx was like 22. Bom/dara wasn't young either. I mean isn't eunbi only 21 right now? Eunbi in her kpop star days was already better then hanna. I doubt hanna is replacing eunbi. If hanna was main singer we Would be in trouble. Hanna is good but not good enough for main position. I think she was added to Bring MORE depth to the vocal line. If you r going to be a 8 member grp you can't only have one/two good singers. For yrs people only Saw and still see taeyeon as the only worthy vocalist of snsd. Can't have that with this one. Plus if eunbi isn't good enough to compete with hyorin/eunji better have 3/4 good vocalists at least. I don't recall Eunbi being "Main vocal great" either but hopefully she has improved a lot. I don't think you can compare this to other groups in different agencies though. The situation is completely different. YG is being all anal about debuting a ~pretty~ group, there have been tons of member changes over the years and the current line-up is shaping up to be very young, all with good looks. Then there is Eunbi who is neither young or good looking (by Korean beauty standards).... I want to see her debut but on the other hand if she does, she's likely to be the go-to "ugly but talented" member which would be a disappointment. Darius 8,485
i dont think their concept or group image will help them get National tittle I think it depends more on how they're promoted and marketed than their image or concept. One thing is for certain they won't get that status if they follow SNSD's path step by step like Apink is doing. They need to forge their own path. 2NE1's Achilles heel was their lack of consistent promotion across multiple platforms. Big Bang has proven you don't need to be 'basic' to get national status. A group just needs to be likable. Edited May 12, 2014 by Rotjoch
Darius 8,485
with all the predebut rumors plus the way YG promote their artists won't really help them to catch SNSD TBH I will be surprise if they can sold as much as SNSD did I don't think they will ever match SNSD's sales but they don't have to anyway. This is a new generation with different standards. You can't compare G.O.D's sales with Big Bang either for example.
Darius 8,485
I've been thinking, maybe Hanna is actually a solo artist and not part of the group. I remember an article about YG debuting 4 new acts: Winner, AkMu, Chungdam Iljin Squad and a "Mysterious Artist" or something like that. Maybe when he made the statement, he already contacted Hanna and made plans to train and debut her as soon as she got off the show. Maybe she might actually be the mysterious new artist he wa talking about this year Didn't YG or someone else say Hanna is not likely to debut solo because Lee Hi's already around and YG doesn't want two similar artists? Darius 8,485
History has shown that YG gets less shit done when he's preoccupied with judging K-Pop Star. The worst case scenario is that he'll find yet another girl he feels like he needs to have for this group. And the best case scenario is that the group's current line-up is final and most stuff is finished, allowing him to focus elsewhere. Praying that this is the case tbh. If he's still actively looking for members at this point then all hope is lost as far as i'm concerned.
Darius 8,485
There's no YG artists promoting at the moment, why can't he debut one of the groups now? I can't understand YG's logic with putting everything off. He's waiting for the perfect time. I'm not sure that'll come soon, though... Maybe towards the end of Big Bang's promotions some time in September/October.
Darius 8,485
I think it will be GD. But I wanted Tablo I don't think so. He has more than enough on his plate with his solo career and BB. They might use songs of his that are in the vault, but I seriously doubt he will be actively involved with them. Darius 8,485
YG already said GD will be the one who will make music for this girlgroup but I think it's not like only him will work for them, maybe Teddy Choice PK DEE.P and other will work for this gg too and omg Eunbi was such a cute pie YG said the same prior to 2NE1's debut. GD's name is attached for publicity but he's not likely to actually be involved in an active way. He can barely manage his solo career and Big Bang as it is. So if he actually lives up to his word, WINNER and PSY will be done by june, and then I guess there's taeyang? Epik High's album is apparently done too. Darius 8,485
It's probably just someone doing demo vocals. Stop making so much sense!
Darius 8,485
It's obviously not the girls, but at least it's another act out of the way and one step closer to their debut. That depends on how you look at things. As time goes by, new things will certainly line up. We already know a CL album is in the pipeline and Lee Hayi's comeback is overdue too. Then there's the possibility of another 2NE1 album and of course BB's comeback.
Darius 8,485
Isn't it odd that they're at YG's main building though? YG has a dedicated training facility elsewhere but the girls are at the main.... Take from that what you will...
Darius 8,485
I guess the next one will be PSY PSY -> WINNER -> BIG BANG -> SOMEONE -> NEW GIRLGROUP.... maybe? More likely is Epik High (May) > Winner (May/June) > Psy (June) > Taeyang (July) > Big Bang (August) > Lee Hayi (September/October) > New GG (November/December) YG accidentally leaked an EH song off their new album (a remake of an old song of theirs) and it was supposedly slated for May 19 release.. Epik High is up in the air. It seems the leaked song is for some singing show collaboration. Edited May 16, 2014 by Rotjoch
Darius 8,485
He should have a YGNGG member feature in every album except BB and Psy I don't think there will be a feature in any of the group albums besides maybe EH.. It seems to be just solos where they're featured. Oh yeah I wouldn't count on a feature in Taeyang's album either.
Darius 8,485
Why are y'all talking like it's already confirmed a member will feature on Taeyang's album? He takes his art very seriously and doesn't like to compromise. He's also not afraid to voice his criticism of YGE's lack of family vibe, questioning on air why he's called up to be in a show (WIN) but not for other things... Needless to say he's not the type of guy to put someone he doesn't know on his album because his boss says so. I think it's more likely they'll be in a MV.
