Darius 8,485
I don't get one thing though. Up until two days ago y'all were joking about Jennie being an iljin and what not but now suddenly everyone has to delete incriminating pics that basically prove she is not the angel her future image will portray her to be? Karma is a bitch, Slacker. If this becomes a scandal, YG will have to make up for it by giving Jennie Kim 60% of the lines on your Big Bang oppars' comeback single. lol How would we make this thread only available to members who follow it You can't. Only forum admins can change forum settings. What the fuck is going on? Everyone is exaggerating about some pic going around where Jennie made a disrespectful/rude remark about some model that committed suicide and was mentally ill. I think we should have some active mod here, like yournoona, dream, The Jany idk who, but someone active who has brain. This thread is just one of many on this forum (and relatively small at that), what makes you think they will appoint a mod just for this thread? Plus the job of a moderator is not to enforce censorship as they please but moderate the forum according to the rules. Posting pics of a facebook comment don't fall under that. Darius 8,485
No. I come in here from time to time. But I keep seeing this thread being updated and people complaining about an "anonymous" thread so I put 2 and 2 together. This thread is basically becoming the 2NE1 Thread 2.0, a dictatorship. Who cares if other people post things from this thread this happens in all threads not just this one. I agree with Slacker if someone post something on a site that is viewed by millions, why can't it be shared? It is probably going to be shared anyway. (I hope this is what you guys are talking about.) And wtf is with the private PM? Also a Private thread? You all know that the mods won't allow it. I understand you want people to follow your rules but some of those rules don't even make sense. /end rant Finally someone gets it. Dude seriously, delete the Daul pic, if any k-fan with a Korean social security no. posted it on Nate Pann boards and a journalist picked it up, it would be a mess. Jennie already has bullying rumours, last thing we need is evidence of her 'behaviour' on a private fb post to flame it. Well, unlike many other people here I am not a "protector" of the girl group members but an observer. Other people deserve to have all the facts at hand and draw their own conclusions about someone. This doesn't change the way I feel about Jennie one bit but its becoming slightly hilarious how some folks here act like the pic is a nuclear bomb to their career. 8
Darius 8,485
I really don't care anymore but is Jennie really trying to ruin herself? She doesn't seem to be taking this seriously. It was incredibly stupid and careless to get so comfortable on a huge social media platform like FB. She is a high-profile trainee that's slated to debut soon and has previously already had a bullying controversy... The only conclusion I can come to is that the girl isn't the brightest of the bunch or is seriously underestimating what she's getting into.
Darius 8,485
I wouldn't be surprised if YG found out the rumors about Jennie and decided to cut her from the group but that would just postpone the group debut even further Not after this much exposure. YG isn't gonna cut her and accept the losses so far in. If it ever turns into a full-blown scandal all that needs to be done is: Acknowledge, apologize and mediaplay on like usual. Knetz always hold a grudge but EVERY idol has those.
Darius 8,485
I don't know why anyone would expect a 2014 debut in current circumstances. You'll almost certainly be disappointed. 2015 is much more realistic atm. YG already has a busy year as it is but regardless I just can't see him pulling off 3 rookie debuts in a year. Darius 8,485
I'm not sure if he can afford to stall the group until 2015.. especially when there's so much hype about girl group debuts this year. If he can stall them for at least two years since the first teaser, why not another year? As long as he stops teasing like the past 9 months it doesn't really matter. With Winner and almost every act on YG's roster making a cb this year, the need for this group to debut ASAP is probably the lowest it has been so far. 2
Darius 8,485
I can see them debuting super late this year or early next. It's different now from two years ago. The slow but sure downfall of all the top groups are apparent so it's like the perfect time to get the new generation started and geared up for the new competition. Of course, no one can predict YG's thoughts at this point. The whole WIN thing was so unexpected in many ways considering how this new GG was supposed to debut first. We'll see, I mean everything is just super unpredictable when it comes to YG. I definitely get what you mean, i've been saying the same thing for awhile. Their debut will probably be semi-impulsive like Winner when YG feels it's the right time. I don't think that time has arrived yet or will arrive soon. Next year seems a lot more likely. Right now SNSD is still #1 but they are clearly not as dominant in the industry compared to a few years ago. I feel like the public is kinda done with them and I also feel like SNSD have shown all they have got to offer as a group. It's obvious YG is very ambitious with this group and if YG is doing what I think he's doing, timing is even more important here than it usually is. He's probably waiting for the perfect circumstances to burst out the gates with a bang and instantly establish them as a force to be reckoned with, much like 2NE1 during their debut. The only other concerns are 2NE1 (but YG is alrdy taking care of them in his own way) and Sistar.... but I still maintain that Sisaster is a bubble. Darius 8,485
Pray its Jennie Kim (probably not tho ) That can't be a real teaser, right? That takes 'cheap' to a whole new level.... But yeah, not related to this group probably.
Darius 8,485
Remember how I said way back that YG was waiting for the right moment to debut this group and mediaplay a certain 'quality' of the group like 2NE1 was "badass" when everyone was doing cute concepts? It seems like the time has/will come soon. Everyone and their mothers are doing a sexy concept now to a point where the public seems to be wanting something different. Now that YG said they will deviate from the sexy trend, i'm almost sure he's going to mediaplay the fuck out of being 'different' and go with a unique concept that might lean towards cutesy. Can actually see this group debuting relatively soon. I'm pretty sure YG has been hoarding good songs that were initially meant for 2NE1 since 2012 or so. Darius 8,485
Could it be the arrangement of 2014 calendar will be like: winner debut - akmu debut - aon concert - yg new gg // 2nd half : bb comeback - team b debut - YG fam world tour YG doesn't have a schedule, just stop trying to predict stuff. It'll only lead to disappointment. The only things set in stone are tour dates b/c they require extensive preparation. BB's July / August comeback is also less of a question mark because they will tour after it and so YG can't afford to fuck around with the comeback date. Also, i'd say Team B is pretty unlikely to debut this year. Edited January 27, 2014 by Slacker
Darius 8,485
I have a gut feeling this group's debut is closer than we all think. Once Winner's debut is over with, i'm pretty certain YG will shift his attention to the gg. I explained earlier how YG was waiting for the perfect timing and imo circumstances won't get much better than they are now/the next couple months. This sexy trend among gg's plays right into YG's hands b/c it allows him to sway public opinion into his favor and debut a cutesy girl group amidst every other girl group whoring themselves out in skimpy clothing and raunchy choreography. The fact they won't be doing that alone will garner praise. Even before the sexy trend, the public were ready for the next big thing, this just makes them more open to something new. They need an act they can put on a pedestal like: "See, YG New Girl Group doesn't have to do this and that to gain attention." They'll relatively easily become a trend if YG plays his cards right. Timing is key. The controversy factor regarding sexy concepts is still there but it won't be for very long. At one point the public will move on from hating to ignoring, at which point the sexy trend will quickly die out. Darius 8,485
Yup, that's basically why I started to follow this thread again. Also, I think it's possible that he could've shafted Winner for right now if the conditions are perfect for these girls to debut. Yep. I also mentioned this in the YGFM thread: Thoughts on this theory of mine? I think the girl group is debuting much sooner than anyone thinks. Maybe even before Winner does. YG recently said Winner are working on a full album which is odd to say the least as hardly anyone debuts with a full album. At the same time, circumstances have gotten ideal for the girl group to debut (as I explained HERE). I can't help but notice how YG seems to be going out of his way to promote Winner without actually debuting them just yet. I mean really, two tv shows?? I just feel like YG is using the excuse of Winner working on a full album to delay their debut and move the girl group into their slot. Maybe i'm just reaching though, idk. I just think it'd make a lot of sense given that YG is extremely careful with his girl group and circumstances won't be ideal for them to debut in for very long. YG doesn't appear to be very fond of Winner tbh. It seems like he just settled b/c he had no other choice (them winning WIN). Also despite popular opinion, I don't see all that much potential in Winner. They don't have fanbase appeal like Team B and their style doesn't seem like it would appeal to a wide audience. They only have name recognition which will help initially but in the long run won't do much for them. Darius 8,485
Truth. It makes sense as to how YG suddenly talked about the 1st half of 2014 for the new gg after a long drought of no mentions coming from him. Plus, there's also the fact that YG probably wants to be the very first to switch the sexy concept trend into something else. There's not gonna be much impact if he does this after SM and JYP's girlgroups debut, and those gg probably won't have a sexy concept either. The key factor in that is that only SM, YG, JYP and maybe Cube have the resources to extensively media play about that. I mean not literally every girl group is doing sexy concepts but enough are doing it to be considered a major trend. What'll differentiate this group is the machine backing them at full force when they do debut. And they do indeed have to debut before any other major players debut their own girl group this year or the effect will be minimal. Darius 8,485
Mean anything? Could literally be anything. We don't even know if "new" means yet to debut or recently debuted.
Darius 8,485
Are people here going to ignore the slut-shaming in this comment? nagl but not surprising coming from you. what? Are you implying i'm sexist? Because I don't need some random person online who doesn't know shit about me to tell me what I am or am not. Also, slut-shaming? 'whoring out' was not meant in a literal sense. It's a fact that most girl groups doing raunchy choreo in skimpy clothing are 'whoring' themselves out everywhere just to get a controversy started. Darius 8,485
Why do you guys have to over analyze every little thing to death? I thought I was bad, until I started frequently following this thread.... i noticed that you often used this emoticon, do you even know the meaning of this emot? btw, welcome. Darius 8,485
am i the only one who doesn't like groups with more than 6 members? XD when there are more, i always forget one or 2 members name and face, idk why. You're not alone. A group should never have more than 5 members imo. Any more means there is guaranteed to be at least one dead weight. 3
Darius 8,485
Like always YG is saying too much well, I think WINNER, Akdong Musician and our girls will debut this year for real. WINNER with a full album next month (or march), AM with a digital single on February (and an album on the second half of year) and the gg will be debuting between july~september I think.... about TEAM B babies I think YG will start something with them this year but the debut will be next year. I think YG can manage it since he start to work hard on this, and seems like he is trying to do it. BIG BANG will go to military soon so I believe YG is creating a new generation while BB can't comeback. I will not cry or bash (on twitter/foruns) because YG is saying too much again. I will just wait to see what happens Not really relevant but can people stop saying this... After they come back (which fyi is in like half a year from now), they will go on a massive world tour that will take like a year, at which point TOP will probably enlist first in Q1/Q2 2016. They are not going any time soon. Edited February 2, 2014 by Slacker
Darius 8,485
YG said Winner's debut may possibly be delayed. I still think this group will debut sooner than anyone thinks. Crazy fangirls will wait, the public won't. Circumstances are ideal to debut them now and it needs to happen SOON. Surely YG realizes this because he's been patiently waiting for like a year and a half now.
Darius 8,485
WINNER fans will hate on the new GG if he debuts them before WINNER Hopefully. They need all the attention they can get.
Darius 8,485
but I don't want them to hate on the girls. Just look what happened to Park Bom.VIP's always called her ugly and hated on her because she promoted with GD&TOP(pre debut). And now she is addicted to Plastic Surgery. If you don't want your faves to get hated on don't stan Kpop idols. Not a single idol was ever hate-free. Bom's case was very different. It's clear that she has/had extremely self-esteem issues and can't handle negative opinions very well. Indifference is much much worse than hate. The sooner Kpop fans realize and accept this, the better they will feel about their faves getting hated on. One of the reasons Big Bang slayed so hard with Alive was because they were constantly hated on in 2011 and always in the news for negative reasons. 2012 came around and boom, they shut shit down and converted a lot of doubters into fans. Darius 8,485
it's about time, he will be back with his "from yg" like he did last year about our girls. 2ne1 is really back btw. he's so determined I never doubted his intentions but that doesn't change the fact he is more often than not incompetent in the execution of plans.
