Oh well. By now i'm kinda used to YG eliminating good potential members like he did with Spica's Bo A and 2NE1. I'm only trusting his judgement regarding putting teams together and picking rappers. I'm starting to hate yg now ughh ¬¬ They haven't debuted yet tho so he shouldn't be criticized for making changes to the groups. The mistake he made more than once was filling the public in on his decisions only to make a 180 shortly after. I really dislike this media play YG has got going on ever since last year. Before that he would hardly media play excessively. I guess the state of the (idol) industry made him really paranoid... One thing I learned from browsing forums for 10+ years is that people with real inside info aren't flaunting it or constantly trying to convince people they or their source(s) are legit. They let their scoops do the talking. There's no way to verify whether your source is legit or not so i'm calling bullshit. Her french barely has any accent. Judging from 1min clips of her saying basic shit though haha French is one of the easiest languages to pronounce correctly without having knowledge of it tbh. A lot of immigrants here have struggled for years to learn to pronounce French correctly. It's not that easy. Or are you talking about the kind of french that americans use on TV to try to be classy? Cause they have horrible pronunciation Nah I was mostly talking about my own experience. My personal opinion aside, she doesn't fit Korea's shallow beauty standards at all. That's why i've been saying from the start that her apparent push as the face of this group doesn't make much sense to me. It's possible YG has something else in mind which consists of Jisoo in the visual role and Jennie as face. But I just don't see Jennie as "face" material. There's gonna be such a big gap between WINNER/Team B's rappers and the yggg's rappers if they classify that kind of talent as "alright" lmao. She passed? Rly"Rap" is really a different thing because I've never heard of a person "improving" in rapping to great lengths lmao. Either you were born with the talent or you just shouldn't try... It's because the basics of what make you a good rapper are things that you have to KNOW. It's not something you can just learn by practicing enough. And they suck at it It's not that they suck at it, it's just that you can't teach someone to rap properly. Like I said above, it requires a certain natural talent that can't be taught. I think, Jennie Kim's the leader.. I can't see her being the group's Park Bom.. More like CL's image.. Just my opinion tho -__- I don't know what aura people are talking about but I can't picture her as the leader at all. She reminds me of Seungri for some reason. She didn't even get one featuring while Jennie got to feature in basically everything that came out of YG. I would be bitter as hell. What's funny is, Eunbi will probably have the most public recognition anyway. I'm guessing YG did that for good reason. I get the feeling she is a similar case as Minzy. A superior singer but has a dull personality and doesn't stand out look-wise. There's no way to successfully market her the way YG wants so instead he brings out a more marketable member. I do feel sorry for her tho. Welp if she doesn't get to debut after waiting so long. At least SuPearls got the cut quickly :/ I think YG was banking on Jennie's reveal being a success and didn't expect the backlash she got, leading to him going back to the drawing table. I don't know if YG severely overrated Jennie's talent or was just stupid for expecting people to eat up her looks while ignoring her (lack of) talent b/c all he'd been doing prior to that was mediaplay about how great and different the group was going to be. It raised expectations to a level Jennie could not meet. YG better have an ace up his sleeve otherwise this group is royally fucked imo. The group needs a member with talent of the caliber of GD/CL that can carry them musically, preferably a composer too. For this specific member, looks should not be a determining factor because of the key role they will play in the group. I hope YG is not hell-bent on having a group of ONLY good looking members as he surely won't find a member like that. Hopefully YG realizes he absolutely needs this ace in his group at all costs and he's actively searching as we speak.. I doubt he would be hiding her if he had a potential GD/CL or even B.I in this group. They're the ones that set YG groups apart from other idols imo, that's why I'm lukewarm on Winner even though they have a lot of talent. They're not explosive, they don't have a member that just captures the audience. I don't want this group to be like that tbh. I don't know if YG considered Jennie to be that ace but what I do know is that YG considered Jennie to be the most marketable member which is obviously not the case. Or let me rephrase: That might be the case but due to his own fuckups (mediaplaying and raising expectations), she was not the right member to market at the time. YG dug his own hole regarding this group... Which I think he realized hence why he's so quiet about them now. As for Winner: I'm also not much of a fan of them primarily because they lack that one special member such as GD/CL/B.I. I think KSY is special in his own way but he's not on the same level as them. I personally think the remark was harmless and we've all probably said worse at some point, so i'm putting the pic back up and let people draw their own conclusions. I am not a fan of (self-)censorship to say the least and Jennie should be prepared to face any consequences if she's careless enough to post it out in the open.
