He didn't highlight those 5 in the Who's back teaser randomly and he also never said they wouldn't debut in the summer anymore. So I believe they're coming out last (since they need more time), around july. It doesn't necessarily mean that there will be 1-2 weeks between ALL the planned comebacks. Just the upcoming 2. I'm still sure that these girls won't debut until September. The 3 summer months will be for 2NE1, Taeyang, GD, PSY and Kang Seung Yoon. Only after all of those have released will this GG debut. He has a japanese album for august so his korean comeback might be around july. Plus, Taeyang's album is probably done too, and KSY / New gg might have their singles already. I mean, YG didn't randomly highlight those names before narrowing down to 2NE1/CL. Let's not forget that, apart from Lee Hi's album, YG's producers have done nothing for the whole year so far. Lol, he didn't push these girls back so many times just so that their debut can be buried under a million other YG comebacks. Common sense tells me that these girls will debut after all of the summer comebacks are over with, which would be in line with everything we've heard from YG lately regarding their debut anyway. We thought that the whole point of the new album was having new music for the world tour, which didn't happen. Now there's no need to rush him. For all we know, that japanese album could be made of 1OAK/Heartbreaker remakes only... They are a bigger priority, which is why he's having all of his other artists' comebacks overlap so that there will be plenty of time afterwards to focus on debuting these girls properly. I think they should have a summer single (hopefully YG could market it as a summer anthem), but yeah... probably won't happen. We were just discussing this... What we know: -The current lineup of the group has 6 members according to YG. Seems like Euna is the only one that's been cut since the Lalice dance video that had 7 members. -Jennie, Eunbi, Jisoo and Lalice are 4/6 So it's very likely that the last 2 are 1 vocalist and 1 main rapper (Jennie isn't good enough to be the only rapper in the group). The vocalist is probably the mystery girl from GD's "Without You", who sounded... okay, I guess. Basically we'd better pray that Jisoo and Lalice can hold their own vocally or else we're going to have Eunbi and "Without You" girl carrying the group, and to be honest, they both sound mediocre. Eunbi and the unknown girl both have distinctive voices and sound good enough. The point of idol groups is to have members excel in different areas, why expect all of them to be vocally talented? Having more than 2-3 good singers would actually be a disadvantage imo. The problem is that neither of them are outstanding enough to be main vocalists. "Without You" girl has a weak voice and even if Eunbi improved, I can't imagine her vocal being anything that would blow you away. They're "ok" singers, Jennie is an "ok" rapper and all the members so far look "ok". YG's standard for music as a whole has been getting worse lately too. It's been ages since a good song has come out of the company so I'm not sure I have much faith in that either. This group is not going to stand out in today's saturated idol market with everything being mediocre. Lalice's dancing is the most exciting thing about this group so far lol. But if the talent isn't there, then just cutting the group down to a smaller number of members might not be the solution. If worst comes to worst, it might be better to delay this group for another year and find more talented trainees. Then reconsider the lineup and debut a solid 6-7 member girl group. He's going to need a proper (new) girl group very soon, so he really doesn't have any choice but to make this work somehow. Does someone else starts to feel YG may give this group the same SM gives to f(x) if things keep going like this? They will debut just to "hold" YG until the future 2NE1 debuts, an in-between generations or something like that. Especially if he's putting all the pressure into the new boy group and recognizes the response isn't what he expected to the girls. Yes. If that's the case, and he's going to treat them like a side-project, then maybe it would better to just debut a trio. I can kinda see where he's coming from now. He probably doesn't really want to make a girl group out of the remaining 6, but I can see that he's still determined to debut Jennie. So a trio with Jennie and 2 members that can sing could work, I guess. Obviously they won't be the SNSD-like industry monsters that he was originally aiming for but I think he's kinda given up on them being that. If you're not going to accept less, then why even say you will? If they're not going to raise the bar in some way then I'd rather them not debut at all. Even if they're average, it's a waste, because the last thing the industry needs at this point is more standard idol groups. Not only that, but YG will have to work 2x as hard to force them down everyone's throats if they can't stand out by their own merit. He knows that, which is why he's stalling.
