Why are Korean actors/actresses so common looking?

I always see k-netz that talk about the difference between actors and idols...so why do I feel like idols are sooo much better looking than them? Whenever I watch dramas, my eyes instantly are drawn towards the visuals of the idols.

 

There are special cases like Kim Soo Hyun(<3), but be honest, if you saw these people on the street, would you think "Wow, how good looking!"?

korean beauty standards value just one type of look and those who meet those standards are more likely to become famous and stuff.

the reason you think they are so common looking is because you see people who like that so much because their looks have gained them roles in movies and media. but in fact not a lot of koreans look like them. this is one of the reasons PS is so prevalent in korea.

Faces like Kim Tae Hee and whatnot may seem "basic" to a lot of I-netz, but you have to remember that a lot of the top actresses that are praised for their beauty are natural. Due to a lot of people having access to ps their faces may not appear to be special or that beautiful but the average Korean face doesn't look like that, similar to any country and its celebs. The average American doesn't look like Scarlett Johansson or the average Indian face doesn't look like Ash Rai. 

 

I personally find the top Korean actresses like Song Kye Hyo to be stunning. The rest are kinda meh tbh and I actually find a lot of idols to be prettier than a lot of actresses. 

 

Plus different country/culture different standards.

loads of idols get multiple surgeries every comeback so of course someone like taeyeon or tiffany is going to look different to an actress, imo actresses look way better and more natural!

Go Ara, Han Cha Young, Song Hye Kyo are very pretty and I would stare at them if I saw them walking down the streets. They are prettier than the average person at my school, prettier than even most of the "super pretty" people tbh. I think on average, Japanese actresses are prettier though. If I saw KTH or Han G In walking down the streets I would think they are more on the average side, but still pretty.

a lot of the top korean actors and actresses look ordinarily but also perfectly beautiful, but there are plenty of k actors with unconvential eyeatching appearances if you dig deep enough. i tend to prefer female korean idols' beauty, it's more diverse and interesting and they can show off styles that actresses wouldnt dare attempt. male korean idols on the other hand can't compete against their male korean actor counterparts(unless they're 5urprise or CNBlue or Uniq)

kim tae hee is super attractive imo, the other 3 arent. song hye kyo >>>> but in general korean actors and actresses are more attractive than ones from my country (USA) i think its easier to be successful here if youre ugly

I'm probabaly getting influenced by K-Netizens  but srsly tho I prefer the K-Actors/actresses visuals over the Idols, Idk there is smth abt Actors/Actresses looks that appeal to me, guess It's their auras Idk, and again not all the Actors are attractive, and there are better-looking Idols than Actors as well that's for sure.

 

I find these 4 actors extremely handsome..

Kosoo is literally a God.

Song Hye Kyo - Asia's true & legit Goddess imho, Kim TaeHee is so beautiful but HyeKyo's Beauty is UNREACHABLE /sorrynotsorry/

 

 

Lee Min Jung, imo the 2nd most beautiful Actress in Korea, her face is literally flawless, she got the most perfect-shaped nose I've ever laid my eyes on and It's natural qdskjfbsd

it's the styling, if you put actresses in flashy idol hair makeup and outfits they would stand outmore but in dramas they wear casual normal hair and makeup. thats's also the reason why sometimes you see idols that look gorgeous on stage but not very pretty in dramas lol

Those are your standards, you're used to seeing western actors all the time and some idols def don't look like very oriental but most actors do. The korean general public, not just netizens who stan idols, prefer that. This is why simple but beautiful faces like Kim Tae Hee rule Korea, and this is why some ifans prefer Song Hye Kyo over KTH. It all depends on what you're terrible standards are if you find Song Hye Kyo prettier than Queen Tae Hee
