Do grades reflect one's true intellect?

The title says it all, do grades reflect one's true intellect? Or they reflect work ethic more than your intelligence?

I'm stupid as fuck but I had the work ethic to cheat on quizzes and copy homework, so I was able to pass through school with flying colors.

Nope plenty of intellectual people dont strive in a boxed in type of environment such as school and some dont like being told what to do and how to think

anybody can past a test on a subject given they weren't lazy, cracked open a book and studied the material...but if you don't bother to even try, you must be pretty stupid.

no math and science grades indicate how good you are at math and science, theres many other forms of intelligence so i dont think theres one way to measure it as a whole

No, it's mostly work ethic.  

My grades in high school depended so heavily on the professor, If i liked them and their methods or not lol.

If you study hard enough, even if you don't fully understand something, you can make good grades~

 

If you're smart, but too lazy to study or put forth your full effort, you'll get bad grades~ Plenty of kids act like they know everything (may actually be smart), but never study and suffer because of it~

not really but it depends on what subject you're excelling at, like excelling in .. History or such has nothing to do with intellect etc, Maths has to with it , though

The ones with high IQ are bored in school and end up with bad marks. 

 

Or on other side there are ppl who  can remember and learn whole books but if u ask them smg aside from it, they are lost case.

Nope. They reflect work ethics. Those who work hard can achieve good grades as opposed to those who slack off. And there are different type of intelligence: musical, logical, interpersonal, intrapersonal, spatial, linguistic, naturalist, existential, bodily...everybody is somewhere.

Almost anyone can get into Harvard if they put in the effort. Imagine how many skilled workers we would have if kids use those 10k+ hours studying instead of playing video games.

i think if you watch answer me 1988, junghwan's brother is actually really smart imo (since he knows like knowledge outside of school stuff) but he can't even get into college

There are many types of intelligence, it depend of which one you pick when you said "true intelligence".

 

I studied Emotional intelligence and it can made a difference in work. But intelligence based on knowledge can't be a reflection of grades. Someone who never had a diploma is not an idiot and someone with diploma aren't genius. Take the exemple of child with hight potential many of them are on school failure.
