  1. 1. What site do you usually buy from?

I need help :ohbi:

Anyone who had bought kpop albums online, pls share your experience and tips/advices if possible, it'll be very appreciated. It's my first time buying so please tell me which site you like (safe packaging, cheaper prices etc.), why and which shipping (with or without tracking) do you use, thanks!

Also I think I'll be pre-ordering ITMFL Pt.2. Is it true that some sites don't allow pre-orders to be shipped with other albums? I'm thinking of getting XOXO and Pt.1 and VIXX' stuff too, it'll suck if I can't put everything into a haul.

PS: I live in SEA btw, does shipping cost a lot to you fellow SEAsians out there? How long does it usually takes?

Well since you live in SEA I suppose it will cost you less than me since I live in Europe.

I've only ordered one time. I like the page. It was cheap, the albums came in perfect condition and I didn't have any kind of problem.

Hello!

Shipping is free provided that you shop above $50 (I haven't been buying stuff from there so I think its $50) (I'm from SEA too) if you shop from YesAsia

Generally, YesAsia is safe to buy from and it takes around 7-14 days? (there is a express option if you wish to have your albums arrive faster but you have to pay for the shipping fees) (not worth it, bleh)

If you buy from YesAsia, they do allow you to choose either to have the non preorder album arrive first (but you have to split payment, I guess) or choose to have the preorder & non preorder album come at the later date.

Alternatively, you can check out reviews and comments from each album you wish to buy from (if any)!

I usually order mine from yesasia, kpoptown and ktown4u. There's pros and cons for all of them.

Yesasia is expensive even though you don't pay shipping. I also had an issue where I ordered something that was listed but no longer available; they took 3 weeks to tell me they couldn't get it. The only thing is they do have rarer items and Japanese releases that the other two don't stock. Kpoptown is good for buying multiple or different versions because sometimes the other sites don't allow you to choose which version you get. I have had a couple of problems with them though (sent me the wrong thing or missed an item) but they replied to all of my queries quickly. Ktown4u is probably the cheapest and most reliable, plus they have several different shipping options. They don't always have albums in stock though and for several artists they only have their newer releases available.

Kpoptown is great, shipping is usually fast and everything is packed really safely. But I also use yesasia which whilst convenient and gives you free shipping after a certain amount is spent it can take a while to get to you. But you live in Asia so I imagine it won't take as long.

I've lost 4 orders from Yesasia so I don't go there anymore lol. I use CDjapan, they're really good, good prices and have 6 to 7 shipping options to suit your budget.

Though they only count towards Oricon and not Hanteo/Gaon, if that matters to you.

International sales do not count towards Oricon.

last time I ordered from kpoptown. I also live in SEA and my album came in about a week in great condition, shipping cost me maybe $5? I chose the cheapest shipping option available but there was no tracking. kpoptown was only a dollar cheaper than kpopmart but every dollar saved counts right?  :ohbi: I've never used any other site other than kpoptown though so I can't tell you about the others~

I've used:

  • YesAsia (I bought a whole bunch of clearance stuff and managed to get free shipping; it took about three to four weeks to get to the US)
  • eBay (varies by dealer; usually about two to three weeks)
  • Gmarket (usually the lowest prices on CDs/merch; they only use EMS shipping, so that will kill any low prices)

I've also ordered from Yahoo Auctions via FromJapan; this is a long drawn-out process, but worth it in the end. They also use EMS.

I'm from Texas and I love Kpopmart!! I've been buying from them for a long time and I trust them. I like that right before they deliver they will take a picture of everything and email it to you. Also in general they are good at emailing and sending notifications/updates. My packages always arrive on time. They ship from Korea so it tends to always take 3-4 weeks. The most important thing tho is they are one of the stores whose albums count towards Korean charts.

In the past I've also bought from kpoptown and yesasia like once. I also had good experience, Yesasia bit slower since ships from Hong Kong.

Anyways Everything depends on your location and the shipping terms, so what may be cheaper for some may not be for you.

Kpoptown & YesAsia for kpop albums

I don't live in SEA but the shipping should be the same (you will probably get the albums faster than I do since SEA is closer to SK than the U.S.)

I normally order from Kpoptown but for some odd reason Kpoptown doesn't let me check out in the past couple of months so I've switched to YesAsia for now.

Both are good (they won't lose your package). Shipping's pretty slow for Kpoptown though. YesAsia is a faster for me. I got VIXX's Chained Up album within a week.

For Japanese releases, I order from DVDHeaven, CDJapan, and YesAsia.

The one I use is called "Buying and Selling KPOP". It's international and you can get some good deals. There's also one called "kpop sale US Only!!!"; there are a lot of crossovers between these two.
