I wouldn't say useless but the groups can survive without a couple of the members I, personally, don't understand the need for groups with more than 5-6 members. When people call an idol "uselss" they're not disparaging them as a person they're just criticizing what little they contribute to the group. Idol groups are essentially a team and imo every member should have a purpose. FYI I don't believe in calling idols "useless" just because they can't sing. Tbh a lot of idols would be useless because wouldn't we only need a vocalist, rapper, and dancer? Then three members would be enough. Every member is there for a reason.
