How popular are Super Junior in Japan ?

Ok so TVXQ are massive there and the SM top dogs. So lets say TVXQ are the 10 out of ten, in terms of popularity right now, well how high would you say SJ are then ?

Trying to get my head around them in Japan tbh and how well they will do on their comeback in terms of their next chart performances. They are beloved by fangirls worldwide in all kinds of crazy countries but where would you place them in regards to the other top Korean Boybands in Japan .ie.  - BigBang, Shinee, 2PM etc etc ?

I've even heard any of successful news about suju in japan yet (maybe because I'm not elf or aware with it)

But likely 2pm and shinee are probably popular than them (?)

But .... in term of popularity in japan no one can beat the legend TVXQ though

hmmm let's see

they released 4 singles between 2011 and 2012 which sold respectively: 70k+, 110k+, 184k+ (best selling kpop single in 2012), 123k+

their first jpn album that was released 2 months ago sold 120k+ so far

2 of their subunits released 3 singles that sold respectively: 80k+ 76k+, 58k+

they were the 2nd kpop group after TVXQ to hold sold out concerts in Tokyo dome and Osaka dome

they have 100k+ registered fans in their official jpn fanclub

Like most kpop groups in Japan SUJU are completely irrelevant to the general public but they have a large fangirl army. 4th biggest fangirl army after TVXQ, BIGBANG and JYJ.

Their new Japanese single will obviously sell lots of CDs and nobody will download it digitally for the music.

I'd give them an 8/10. I've seen them at smtown tokyo several times and the crowd is always second loudest to tvxq when they come out. They are probably at the same level as big bang. Or maybe even a tad more cuz the fans seem to connect with the members more.

for a group with close to zero promotions they're single sales numbers are in par to 2PM/TVXQ but i can't speak for their actual popularity since I read that part of the reason they get those sales numbers in the 1st place is because their sold in multiple ver and at a discount price at their concerts.
