The Russian plane crash in Sinai, Egypt, was caused by a terrorist attack as traces of explosives have been found in the wreckage of the plane, Federal Security Service director Aleksandr Bortnikov told President Vladimir Putin.

“We can say that that [sinai plane crash] was a terror act,â€Bortnikov told Putin. According to the FSB chief, experts analyzed passengers’ belongings as well as the parts of the plane. â€œAfter the examination on all these objects, we have found traces of a foreign-made explosive substance,†Bortnikov said.

“During the flight, a homemade device with the power of 1.5 kilograms of TNT was detonated. As a result, the plane fell apart in the air, which can be explained by the huge scattering of the fuselage parts of the plane,†he added.

Vladimir Putin has vowed to find and punish the culprits behind the Sinai plane attack. â€œOur military work in Syria must not only continue. It must be strengthened in such a way so that the terrorists will understand that retribution is inevitable,†he said.

The Federal Security Service director also announced a reward of $50 million for information on those behind the terror attack on the A321.

The Russian president asked the Foreign Ministry to â€œcall on all our [foreign] partners†to assist in the search for the terrorists behind the attack. â€œWe look forward in the course of this work to [help from] all our friends, including in finding and punishing the criminals," he added.

Russia will act in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter, which provides for countries’ right to self-defense, Putin said. â€œThose who attempt to assist criminals should be aware that the consequences of such attempts will be entirely their responsibility,†he added.

The Kogalymavia A321 air crash took place over the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt on October 31. All 224 people on board the plane were killed, making it the deadliest air accident in modern Russian aviation history.

who is talking about france? I'm talking about the world. Why I should focus only in France? I feel bad for people who die because of terrorism, because of wars, because of starvation/malnutrition etc... France is just one of these country. Why france is more important than the others? I live in Europe but I give the same importance to everyone.

And at least in my country people don't know about the Russian incident. And I don't see PrayForRussia being TT in twitter with thousands of tweets or I don't see famous people posting about it.

It did receive lots of attention though...there were prolly even hashtags but the thing with plane crashes is, they might be statistically rare, but people still know (and sort of expect) they could happen at any time, and especially during the past few years there have been a few very high profile cases that may have numbed people's feelings. It isn't like an attack in a famous, crowded, touristy and beloved city like Paris, because if you never fly, you don't need to fear plane crashes, but the kind of terrorist attacks that happened in Paris can happen anywhere, Da'esh could make any place their next target, so it freaks people out more.

But it still got lots of attention, people were shocked, sent condolences to Russia, left flowers at the local Russian embassy etc, talked about the fear and grief they felt on SNS.

ISIS has claimed responsibility but it has yet to be verified.

Investigators already said that this was not a mechanical failure.

European investigators who analyzed the two flight recorders from the Metrojet plane that went down last weekend in Egypt are categorically saying the crash is not an accident, CNN affiliate France 2 reported Friday.

The investigators said the cockpit voice recorder of Metrojet Flight 9268 shows an explosion and the flight data recorder confirms the explosion is not accidental -- there is no sign of mechanical malfunction during the initial part of the flight, France 2 reported.

Not funny. That Charlie Hebdo, I never find them funny. They make fun of everything but they don't know when to have a limit. It's not for nothing that islamist choose them 1 year ago. (Well, it's not an excuse to kill them).

I will NEVER buy a Charlie Hebdo's newspaper.

Look, they talk about it 8 hours ago again, and that only one example, they talk about it in all newspaper. They talk about it during one week when it's happen.

So people are supposed to feel bad for everybody that dies in the world?

There is a hierarchy of nations. Things aren't equal and they never will be.

Stop fucking look at Twitter and expecting it to be a news source!
