HATEmeCUZyouAINTme 1,853 Posted November 15, 2015 Share Posted November 15, 2015 Kpop is greatly reliant on looks for success or recognition but there are a few idols that have been able to break the status quo Hyoyeon- It's especially hard for girl group members to succeed without visuals, but Hyoyeon is not only in one of the most popular girl groups in kpop, but she is also arguably the best female dancer in kpop right now. Even though she's not high on the visual ranking of her group, her hard work and talent have made her stand out Bobby- In a group that doesn't rely as much on visuals, Bobby has still managed to stand out. But most know him more for his win on SMTM and his amazing rapping skills. Bobby is one of the most talented in his group and proves that visuals aren't always necessary to succeed. Rapmonster- BTS is a group that gets more popular everyday and Rapmon being the leader is partially responsible for that. Although you'll rarely see him in the front or center of group line-up, it's obvious the amount of work he puts in. He is also always on the list for best male idol rappers and his talent is no joke. Although some say he looks like a lizard, Rapmonster has broken barriers to get to where he is. Gfriend- K-netz are always bashing this group on their visuals, or lack thereof, but G-friend continues to do well in the charts and gain more popularity everyday. Coming from a fairly nugu company, they have proved that hard work, not looks are what it takes to succeed. Niel- With a unique face like this, Niel is easy to notice, but his vocal abilities are starting to distract others. Niel's group is slowly gaining more recognition and he is known for being one of the powerhouse vocalists in kpop. Do you agree? What other idols do you think have done this? But the reality is, is that a lot of the mentioned idols in OP's post aren't considered that attractive to the public compared to other idols.
