satoori 45,814
While looking for Twice videos, since I’m somewhat starting to be come a fan, I came across this very recent interview (video). 151112 The Show Interview Screenshots/Eng Subs-(starts @2:39) (posted July 18, 2014) Among Armys and international kpop fans in general, this phrase/world play is popular due to BTS. "No Jams" is not a common saying in South Korea, but now it seems like it's becoming one? Twice singing and Momo dancing to ‘I Need U’ at a Fanmeeting https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S-CEKqJESNU Another idol girl group to add to the growing list of BTS fan girls!! Red Velvet Apink EXID Kara Orange Caramel Laboum The Ark Secret’s Jieun NS Yoonji 15& Jimin Helle Venus (?) AOA (?) ***If you need receipts, ask please EDIT: Are some people really upset with this? I thought it was cute! tbh I'm actually curious what else have they watched or know about BTS!! And It's cute that Jungyeon constantly uses the phrase in her individual introductions. EDIT 2: "잼" I don't think it means good, when I look it up literally I get pictures of Jam or it's trans as "ZAM" (old korean idol group). 잼 seems to be a wordplay from the korean word 재미있다= to be good/interesting. I guess the question now is was "no jam/잼" a common korean wordplay before Rapmon said it during BTS english conversation?...which honestly I don't think it was, it seem to be spontaneous when initially said... Serendipity 11,102
Hahahaha. I'm usually one to brush things off as just a coincidence, but it's really not a common phrase to my knowledge. And it's used in a peculiar and specific way in this context. So... perhaps not too far-fetched.

The saying 'no jams' comes from 'no jaem' in that sense. Of course the word 'jams' existed earlier but Rapmon was making a world play with jams and jaemi. thewronggirll 1,195
It's translated in every single other video and insta post as "no fun" because Chaeyoung and Jungyeon are known for making bad jokes. And they've been using that phrase to describe themselves for months now. It's probably nothing to do with BTS...
