Barely a day goes by without a thread about K-pop MV views on Youtube but you rarely if ever see any about Cantopop or Mandopop, so I decided to look for videos from artists based in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong etc. Note that these numbers are all from Youtube and that site is nominally inaccessible from China (even if there are ways to get past that).

Is those years by hu xia considered?

I remember it was the most viewed mandopop video on youtube.

Checked and it has 68,503,498 views.

Yes~

I'll add it if you can link it! I only saw one w/ 1.9 million views.

The only ones I don't really count are EXO's Mandarin songs (since over half the group is Korean) and other Chinese singers part of foreign groups (Fei, Amber etc).

Edit: I found it when searching for the Chinese title

Great work! ^O^

I'm confused, though: is it this year releases or just overall list of evrth? Also is it correct to assume all of these videos except the ones you marked are on official channels? And allow me a very dumb question bc it always boggled me: if yt is blocked in China, how come mainland artists have official channels? ^^; Is it even legal, if the portal is supposed to be blocked? ^^; What am I missing?

It's from any year. Most of them are older but a few are from 2015 ("A Little Happiness" and "That Good Good" for instance). Every video without an asterix is supposed to be from an official channel but there are some where I'm not 100% certain (like the Hu Xia video). As for whether it's legal or not I can't say... It's probably allowed for official use.

a few more:

– 22.8 million

– 29.5 million

Fish Leong - 情歌 – 21 million

Fish Leong - 會呼å¸çš„ç—› – 18.8 million

Also that 48 million Rhythm of the Rain song is Queen Wei's (éå¦‚昀) version of the song. Jay's version has much less views.

I don't think it's fair to count unofficial versions especially considering that because they're unofficial, they usually get taken down. The most watched upload of the MV for Kris' There is A Place is gone now for example.

Hmmmm if I am not wrong, Pets Tseng has a song or two passing the 10 million mark or something.

Anyways, it's really nice to see so many songs breaking 10 million or more mark considering that cpop isn't like kpop where by mv views are included to music show wins which means that fans don't really spam watch music videos to boost points etc. which sort of show how good the music is or how appealing is the music to the public. No doubt songs like å°å¹¸è¿ and 那些年 are actually due to the effect of the movie, nonetheless, it's a nice achievement to see in cpop [emoji4]

A-Lin

33,876,204

A-Lin full album audio from a random fanaccount has 17,222,202 views more than any popular Kpop album views, and it's a 2 years old album.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_B5PqpQuVtg

Harlem Yu

36,465,968

Taiwanese singers would have much more views if they have official YT account before imo.

Like Jay Chou, Wang Lee Hom old songs would gain so many views if it was official. More Taiwanese artists only started to have their own individual youtube account for the past 3 years or so...oh well, late than never. This is first step to approach international Mandopop fans. I hope Taiwan start their own weekly Music Shows

only if stupid beijing would let china go on youtube..you'd probably get like 1 billion views for little apple, bubble & 那些年 & 模特

btw, my bias

GEM's bubble is around 26-27 million because she has two official channels and the video's view were split....

and 喜歡你 is probably the most viewed cantonese song .. it's at 17 million :hoplz:
