Honestly, if he only knew how to draw faces, then he would have been accepted to the academy and WWII (or at least a huge chunk of it) could have possibly been avoided. He got rejected because he couldn't draw human faces. But yes; one cannot deny his talent in this particular aspect (although this seems more into imitation. As far as I know, he doesn't have much creativity/expressionism to his works).

His work lacks any sort of emotion, when you look at art you need to feel something. Instead I thought of how good that building was drawn technique wise and then I noticed the faceless people. The faceless people weren't the problem, you go to art school to learn, there would have been plenty of people in art school that would help him. The ability to make art however is something that can't be taught.

In Mein Kampf, he said smth like that too : that the Art school director praised his skill but told him he was better off at an architecture school but he didn't have the academic credentials to apply for one. 

 

OP, have you ever seen his Disney characters sketches ?
