What do you think of the Suiyoubi no Campanella album?

There is quite a bit of buzz around this release. They're actually dipping those toes into the mainstream now, performing on music shows and all that. I do like the album, but I think the one last year was better. I feel like this album didn't really have cohesion. It was like a collection of songs as opposed to an album. It reminds me of Azealia Banks' album in that way. I was thinking this could be my album of the year, but it will still be cero's. Their album created a mood. I just didn't really get that from Suiyoubi no Campanella's. I like their album, but I just didn't get... that feeling. But good God, Kenmochi Hidefumi's production on this is amazing... All the pop girls need to make their calls for tracks...

I'm still really lost at who exactly is funding them because they're on their own label and yet they pump out so many quality videos even though they have very small sales. I know that Nissin probably funded the "Ra", and PARCO probably funded "Medusa", but what about the others? I can't think of tie-ins or product placement that would explain things. I know that "Twiggy" was in a Yahoo! Auctions CM, but that doesn't have a video. Maybe it will soon?

And yeah, they should have a badge...

Suiyoubi no Campanella has quite a bit of competition in Chatmonchy, Uminote, Daoko, Wata Megumi, Tricot, and Yoshida Ichiro Untouchable World. They've met expectations with the release of Zipang but it isn't as strong as their past releases. They're experimenting with their sound a bit and it payed off for the most part but they could've done a bit more. Strong album but I expected a tad bit more....still one of the better albums released this year.
