the sexualisation of young females?

I was talking to some friends today about how gross it is that there are stereotypically sexy cliches linked to the school girl and girl scout, and about how there seems to be an almost universal culture around the sexualisation of immature girls.

I find this particularly resonant in terms of kpop and especially jpop in which 20+ year old women are infantilised to make them more attractive to a male audience, or even more disturbingly, under aged girls are used as an instrument to arose the fantasies of fans.

I know it's a discussion that's been done to death, but I find it very curious, especially in comparison to the standards held for men, in which older men are often seen as more attractive even getting titles like "silver fox" that encourage the attractiveness of the 40 something year old man.

It's really strange to me that whilst cultures shun paedophilia (as they should) they openly endorse a lustful image of young, immature girls. Personally, I find the age of consent laws ridiculous, as women mature at different rates, however I'd never find a 16 year old mature enough to consent to relations with significantly older people, and I find the line starts to blend around 18, extending into the early to mid 20's.

TL;DR - The sexualisation of minors disturbs me and is too commonplace throughout the whole world, why can't we instead sexualise the beautiful form of the fully matured 20-40 year old woman?

because there will always be creeps who will only be satisfied if it's 14 years old little girls flashing their school uniform skirt :)

yeah, but why? and why are there enough of these people to fuel a seemingly unstoppable economy of little girls flashing their school uniform skirts?

Any form of sexualization is problematic.

I.e. Kylie Jenner dressing older than her age is disturbing to me. It leads to young girls/minors dressing older than they are which leads to other problems.

The problem here is evidently any form of sexualization to be honest.

To answer your question. Sexualization of underage girls will never stop cause most of the perverts are obsessed with innocence. They have a fetish for school uniforms and minors dancing around with miniskirts while they can see their shorts underneath. Companies milking those concepts know that uncles fans are no joke. They will do the most to catapult their faves to fame. Hence why companies have to find a way to glue them even if that means sexualizing underage girls.

youre right that mature women are not clebrrated enough for their beauty. but the sexualization of young women and girls below the age of 18 has been a thing throughout all of human history, a biological mechanism to produce fitter offspring, I don't think anyone could or should do anything about that

I actually think sexualising consenting figures is an important part in the discussion surrounding sexuality. The problem is minors can not consent with their full capacity to become sexual figures, and this includes Kylie Jenner, no matter how she dresses or conducts herself, she cannot, because of her age, consent to the sexualised lens being placed upon her. However, take for example a woman like Dita Von Teese, or Beyonce, who is fully matured and able to own and express their sexuality with full intent, I don't find sexualising these women harmful, as long as it remains respectful and consensual, this aids to reduce the stigma surrounding female sexuality. Sorry if that was really long and boring :P

It's not a cultural decision - it's based on biological reality.  Once a girl starts menstruating, she is "old enough"...and even preferable from a strictly biological perspective.  It has nothing to do with being "creepy" or "disturbing" - it's one of those realities of human existence that we must learn to understand and deal with.

That said, K-Pop is really being held back by its obsession with debuting schoolgirl-like groups.  If the genre ever has a chance of maturing into a real musical subculture, it will need to leave that tendency behind.  It even forces its mature groups to look and act twelve years old in many concepts out of an apparent fear that the older fan base will be turned off if their little girls grow up.  This is one of the reasons why K-Pop gets ridiculed so often by fans of other musical genres.

It's because that's what they like. I can't understand it either because I find it disturbing but that's what they find good

The reason I don't find this argument so compelling is because humans are also biologically made to be hunters, but we no longer do that, and most of our hunting instincts have dulled and even diminished, so why would this instinct remain? I'm not saying it's untrue at all, I'm no psychologist, or biologist, see- I don't even know what kind of person would study these things
