Kai is art in motion.

 

Choreographies like 'Deep Breath' and 'Baby Don't Cry' are really his forte and this truly showcases the beauty of his dancing. Because contemporary-style dances are not that mainstream in Korea, Kai has made this style his, and this is why he stands out so much as a dancer in the kpop community.

 

Even if hiphop isn't really his area of expertise, he mixes his hiphop choreogaphy with a dash of his contemporary flavor and it really does great wonders (evidences seen in OP's post). Because of this, it makes him a really versatile dancer. Good job, Kai. You really are unique and the one to watch. We all hope to see more of your art in the future.

You would you assess your own dancing skills?

Baekhyun: I've never learned dancing. I just follow what Kai does. Kai is a really great dancer. Having Kai on the team raises the average standard, because we get to see him and copy him. All I do is watch him dance, and I try out parts that seem especially awesome. Of course, I did improve my dancing skills a lot in the process. I ask Kai a lot of questions, too. Before, I wasn't that greedy about dance, but as I learn more, I want to do more. Especially during this concert, as I watched Kai do his awesome performance, I came to want to do more.

 

This really makes me fangirl. I'm just thinking about all the ways that Kai's fellow members have been influenced by his dance style, his work ethic in the dance practice rooms, how watching him has changed how they've developed. I find that frankly awesome. Especially for a hyung to be watching their younger member and look up to him, asking him how to improve.

some people may disagree but i consider kai an artist in the way he breaths life into his dancing his solo stages deep breath and baby don't cry are really so mesmerizing and magical you can't help but feel so engulfed and immersed by/in his dancing and that can only be done by a true artist.

just contributing. some might not know about lay's skills. i mean kai is one of the more popular members in exo, isnt he? (dont follow exo, just a regular guy who happened upon lay's instagram some time ago and saw him perform beautifully with two sm trainees)

as i said, i dont follow exo. i dont follow lay. i dont follow kai. ive watched their last two music videos and some performances + lays instagram choreo. im not a fan of lay. but from what ive seen i can safely say that i prefer him subjectively over kai. those two being the most important dancers of exo (from what ive gathered in various comment sections relating to their performances and abilities showcased) there is bound to be discussion and comparison in threads about either idol. if you dont like that i'm contributing to the discussion, if you dont like the fact that i prefer someone over your bias, censor me, block me, ban me. accept the fact that there are no clean purely kai spaces of discussion. dont let the exo fandom descend into some crazy justin bieber hell with no room for criticism(which i never even attempted). let me make it clear to you. they are both good dancers and in the spheres of kpop dancing hierarchy somewhere near the top, the very pinnacle. that i prefer lay as a dancer should not bother you just because this is a kai thread. read the topic. there are celebrities talking about kai favourably, but are not even mentioning his dancing prowess. why does this not bother you?

You're not aware of this but there're always comments about how X or Y are better than him in threads meant to -appreciate- his talent, so it's getting annoying. There're already plenty of threads about who's the best dancer between Kai and X/Y/Z so there's no need to talk about it here.

And i'm not an exo fan btw so don't bring their fandom into this lol

also im not overreacting i stated my opinion and you needlessly told me to shut up and go to a lay thread or smth like that. not that ive dont any of that. whatdoes politeness have to do with contributing to the discussion. there is no strict etiquette on this forum. otherwise you would have already effectively reported me, which is impossible for you to do because I have done nothing wrong. so i guess, im still within the guidelines, am i not?
