Hip hop entertainer Jay Park speaks about his feelings toward a recent hip hop trend on November 6 broadcast of KBS’s “Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook.â€

The emcee Yoo Hee Yeol asks Jay Park why he thinks hip hop music has become so popular all of a sudden. Jay Park replies, “I think it’s a fresh genre for most listeners. There is no set rule for lyrics or music. I think people like it because it’s very free.â€

When asked by Yoo Hee Yeol if he can think of anything unfortunate he wants to address about the current trend in hip hop industry, Jay Park comments, “It’s become pretty predictable. It used to be refreshing to see idol stars come out, do hip hop, and talk bad about their own agencies, but everyone’s doing it now. They even diss on purpose in order to rank number one in the internet search results.â€

But what? I thought I read that one of his tracks directly insult/attack JYP? I am pretty sure he was an idol rapper in an idol company until his contract was terminated. Jay Park is extremely talented, resourceful, and appears to have done very well but this statement seems a little ... questionable.

RE: Bobby and showering

"Hip-hop isn’t just music; it has a culture. Like when you’re simply hanging out with your friends and high-five each other, that’s hip-hop. For example, waking up in the morning and going to school without showering, that’s hip-hop too."

^ I've never expected him to do it to receive some media attention. All he got from it was knetizens asking why he dropped out 2PM bc that's the only thing they are interested in. Well, I think he liked when people asked him about his departure from JYP, and 6 years later, interviewers were not asking it anymore, he decided to revive this question.

in hip hop you can come and diss your mother if you want, but there's a price to be paid, especially when you aim people who have influence on media, that's why on SMTM rappers don't target popular idols, they want a career after the show. IMO Jay doing this kind of thing is so underground, I consider him to be in higher level, he's the CEO of a company.

Really?  Seems self-aware to me, rather.  I mean, back when he was practically a fetus and calling SK gay, he knew he was a shitty rapper.

Pretty sure they were referring to the part about releasing diss tracks to get #1, unless he was just purposely exposing himself lol
