Do you think IU has bad personality, or is it solely because people always find reasons to hate her?

Everybody here knows IU is involved in some controversies lately. I do dislike her because of Eunhyuk incident, but I don't hate people for no reason. When people bash her unreasonably, I would not join the hate wagon. Though I agree that she shouldn't have described Zeze that way, no matter what she really meant

personally, i'm neutral on her personality. i don't think she's necessarily good or bad, but i definitely think she's misunderstood, especially by people who are looking for ways to cut her down in the first place.

I think the reason she's in any of these scandals is because people want to find a reason to hate her.  None of you actually know her enough to know her personality and basing an opinion of her on her concepts isn't very wise. She apologized and addressed the current issues and her apology made sense to me.  Since I didn't read the apology with biased lenses (meaning looking for flaws), I was able to except her explanation that she got carried away with receiving praise so she delivered a product that was lacking.  That and the fact that she is indeed an amateur writer makes it extremely likely and believable that her intention behind her lyrics and the way they were interpreted are at odds.

 

She hasn't done anything to make me believe she's a pedophile.  I think that's a horrible leap that people are making and it's an extremely harmful and mean label to give to someone given the context of the situation.  The Lolita concept?  Have you guys been watching idol groups with blindfolds on or something?  Why do you think these uncle fans exist in such large numbers? And the lyrics? Do you really think Ice Cream Cake was about an ice cream cake? I mean innocent young fans may think so but older fans understand the other meaning the song portrays. "come and taste me" I mean...really?

 

So she may be a horrible person, but nothing she's actually done suggests she is.  At the end of the day though, we will never know because we'll never get a chance to actually meet her and know her personality away from all the flashing lights and album sales.

People are also quite subjective on what a "witch hunt" is. When there were 5 threads a day bashing Ikon on some petty ish that wasn't a "witch hunt" but when IU gets called out for serious things that's a "witch hunt"

A lot of it might be bandwagon hate but that doesn't mean she's necessarily an innocent angel or whatever. She seems like she can make dumb decisions at times so it gets her into problems too

I don't follow her so I don't know her personality other than the manufactured one I've seen on TV.

 

IMO in this instance she's clearly being hated just to be hated.  She made some errors in judgment, people freaked out and demanded an apology.  She apologizes and people hate her apology.  It seems they want to drive her into both personal and professional exile - many have even stated as much.  I think for some the hate is personal, others are just on the bandwagon looking for an excuse to hate someone.

 

IMO, the whole controversy is now just one stinking pile of hypocritical shit.  These same people have no issue with underage idols (and I'm talking 14, 15, 16 years old) dressing and acting in sexually suggestive ways or being sexualized by the public.  Yup, it's perfectly ok to turn a child into a dirty old man's favorite wank material, just don't draw a picture of a boy in stocking that may or many not be fishnets.  I don't get it, but I guess my soul isn't filled with enough hate to understand.
