A star-studded cast has been revealed for upcoming film Incheon Landing Operation (called ‘Operation Chromite’ for international releases). The film is based on a real operation during the Korean War of the same name where General Douglas MacArthur (who will be portrayed by Liam Neeson) planned an operation for the United Nations to retake Incheon and then recapture Seoul just two weeks later from North Korea. This film will focus on a covert ‘X-Ray’ operation where Lee Jung Jae plays the Korean commander who must succeed with his troop members in order for General MacArthur’s plans to succeed. Lee Beom Soo has also signed on to play a North Korean colonel. Jin Se Yeon has signed on to play a nurse and it seems that Kim Sun Ah may also appear in the film along with Jung Joon Ho and Choo Sung Hoon. The film is aiming for a 2016 release date.

More Infos, as well as the Press Conf Interview in the Spoiler

"Operation Chromite," directed by John H. Lee, will center on a secret intelligence unit that spied on North Korea to prepare for that historic battle.

"At first, I thought it would be another war movie, but upon reading the scenario, I realized it's more of a suspense thriller," South Korean actor Lee Jung-jae told reporters at a press conference in Seoul. "I decided to take part because it sheds critical light on the sacrifices made by the intelligence unit and people of Incheon."

   Lee Jung Jae will play Jang Hak-su, a South Korean naval captain who spearheaded the spy operation called "X-Ray." A total of 17 soldiers were part of the Korea Liaison Office (KLO), the intelligence unit.

American actor Liam Neeson, who couldn't make the press conference due to a scheduling conflict, will star as the mastermind of the Incheon Landing, U.S. General Douglas MacArthur. South Korean actor Lee Beom-soo will be the villain, Rim Kye-jin, who controlled the North's troops in Incheon.

South Korean actor Jung Joon-ho, who will portray a fictional character that led the Incheon branch of the KLO, echoed Lee Jung-jae's comments, saying the film will document a critical part of South Korean history.

"I wanted to help show our future generations how South Korea came to be and how these hidden heroes played a big part," Jung said.

Lee Jung-jae, meanwhile, dismissed anticipation that "Operation Chromite" will be his big break into Hollywood.

"People ask if this will be my Hollywood break, but I tell them it's Neeson's break into K-movies," Lee said, laughing.

John H. Lee, who directed another Korean War film five years ago, said he'd been wanting to shoot another war movie since "71: Into the Fire," a story of South Korean students who fought in the Korean War.

"I remember thinking after '71: Into the Fire' that I want to film another war movie," he said, "the reason being the unique charm and drama of war films. They capture humanity in its direst situations."

   "Operation Chromite" will open in July 2016.

Isn't she the actress knetizens and people on drama blogs hate? Lol. Congrats!

they hate her to the point they wished she could die at the set of her latest webdrama, It was filmed in the countryside (at a high montain), people are too cruel, may God forgive the sins they did ... and tbh she's a good actress, I don't get the hate she's getting u can check out her dramas and you'd clearly see how good she is, her performance in 'My daughter the flower' was beyond expectation for a rookie actress, she keeps on improving each time she appears on screen, people are hating her mainly bcs of 'Doctor Stranger' even tho her performance was good, the thing is that her character was literally messed up, and so goes for the storyline and Lee JongSuk's character, instead of blaming the writer they chose to hate on SeYeon, and so everyone jumped on the hate bandwagon ;;

She is an awful actress, can`t emote for shit. But more power to her  i guess.

saying she's an awful/terrible actress is just ...... she'd def not the best actress out there but she's far from being terrible, I actually become a fan due to 'Bridal Mask' so

Lord, please don't let the rumors be true... about her having a sponsor and that's why she's constnatly landing lead roles while her acting is below par..... Amen.

She got a good company to back her up, Luck, and opportunities ;;

I'm here for every movie with Lee Jung Jae in the cast! He's SO good and SO hot for an ahjussi. Jin Se Yeon lol she must have someone backing her up big times for her to land all these roles.

He's one of my favourite Actors, def one of Korea's best Actors, and I'm glad SeYeon would be working with him, she's just lucky and got a good company, that's all, just leave it at that ;;

Eh~

The Korean standard for acting (at least in Kdramas) are pretty low. I don't get why they throw hiss fits and pick on idols and a few of these "pretty"/talent less actresses when the majority are sub-par to downright shitty  :donthinkso:

her acting ain't shitty tho, It's ... decent

looking forward it, she improved in Dr.stanger, her performance in her Japanese Movie as a Blind young girl got me, was really touching.

she just needs the right role, right drama, and she'll do just fine.

Ah, I wasn't aware that the hate went to that extent. I thought it was mostly just people not liking her acting and being discontent when she gets cast in dramas. Sorry to hear that the hate has gone overboard, with people wishing for her death(they need to chill, it's just an acting role @.@). :unsure:

I haven't checked out her other dramas yet coz the synopsis didn't interest me. Tho, I see lots of talks in the drama community about her(it's like a chorus of no's from people whenever she gets casted). She didn't impress me much in Bridal Mask(she isn't the worst actress out there, though) but there's still hope for her to improve. She seems young and she could still get roles that are well-written and handled by good directors. I mean, for example, I never liked Lee Yeon Hee's acting before but Miss Korea changed my mind and made me see her improvements. Good luck to Jin Se Yeon, then.

Wow with Lee Jung Jae and Lee Bum Soo too. Her acting is definitely not on par... People defending her and saying she's still young, that's true she is still young so why can't she continue with smaller supporting roles? She's been getting all these lead roles right away and her acting chops do not justify why she gets them.

Good luck!

The hate bandwagon on her is too much, give the girl chance to improve her acting.she's still young a 94er

she's mediocre at acting not absolutely terrible.

PREACH.
