The accolades and honors continue to pour in for comeback queen Janet Jackson.

After a brief break, the diva’s ‘Unbreakable World Tour’ is back on the road thrilling audiences.

Presently wrapping up its first US leg, the trek’s latest stop was in Minneapolis – a city with much history for the ‘BURNITUP!’ belter.

Longtime collaborator’s Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis hail from the area and together with Jackson created four of her most renown albums there (‘Control,’ ‘Rhythm Nation,’ ‘.janet,’ and ‘The Velvet Rope.’)

In many ways, then, the star’s show at the Target Center last night was a homecoming of sorts and the city’s mayor made sure it was one to remember.

See what we mean below…

Surprising Janet at the end of the concert, Betsy Hodges praised the performer and officially declared November 1st 2015 â€˜Janet Jackson Day.’

The presentation comes on the heels of Jackson’s chart-topping debut with new album ‘Unbreakable’ and announcement as a nominee in the 2016 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Watch the touching moment here…
