It's good I'm not the only one weirded out by the fact that Fave keeps showing the same girls and not necessarily the most expected ones...
At first I wondered if it was to help raise the popularity of some of the girls that got eliminated early on in Mixnine, but then Yujin should definitely be one on the pictures...

I would be worried if the girls not shown didn't include Soyeon and Soomin. I'm starting to wonder if Soyeon, Soomin, Bowon and Yujin are not in a project of their own. Not sure what kind of project (a unit? xD Would be funny considering my previous post), but yeah... it seems plausible.
I do think splitting Soyeon-Soomin-Bowon-Yujin for a more sexy concept (they are of age or close to it), or a fierce concept (since they all are quite on the powerful side) makes sense. Leaving the younger girls with Sujin and Haerin (2 visual + popular members, to balance it out with Soyeon-Soomin-Bowon) for a unit with a more youthful (or innocent, or cute?) concept.
The only weird part is that Suhyun seems to be with the younger girls, but then again, I don't think she fits a fierce concept, so why not?
It's totally within the scope of what I suggested dave.png

Don't tell me I'm dreaming please xD

Your sig! I am still convinced at least some of the other dancers were trainees, I swear! I was trying so hard to find out who they were when I made this thread xD

Considering all the negative rumors about the Mixnine winning boys group, I thought it time to revive an old topic for discussion.

I posted this in this thread but what do you think about my analysis of how the Mixnine results turned out the way it did?

I actually think the losing girls team has a better chance of debuting with YG. YG seemed to prefer the girls tbh.

Considering how the girls were much more high profile than the boys :

1) JYP trainee Shin Ryujin

2)Kpopstar 6 standout Lee Soomin

3)Blockberry's Loona Heejin and Hyunjin

4)Dreamcatcher

A combination of pure badluck served to hobble the girls team's chances :

1) Dreamcatcher bailed on Mixnine

2) Lee Sujin, the lock for #3 on the girls team was injured out of the competition

3) Infighting between Heejin and Hyunjin divided the Loona fanbase

4) The other Kpopstar 6 fan favorite Kim Sohee was sent to the US for dance training, preventing her from taking part with her fellow ELRIS teammates

YG could not have foreseen all these 4 factors eliminating his high profile girls.

Imagine a Top 9 with Ryujin, Soomin, Sujin,2 X Dreamcatcher girls, 2 X Loona girls and Kim Sohee. The boys would not have stood a chance of winning.

No surprise, if I were YG, I'd be as sore as heck and cursing my misfortune. Instead of an Avenger's team of super high profile fanfavorite girls, I get a super-nugu team made up of trainees from tiny entertainment companies that are direct competition to my actual YG boygroup

I actually talked about it on Twitter, girls or boys winning would have made no difference. YG wanted his own wannaone/ioi, but Mixnine failed, which means the group won't be instantly successful, but has a higher chance of going through a growth period before becoming successful, like MonstaX or Momoland (from umpopular survival shows as well).

Considering the odds and the contract time, there is no time to help a group grow to success. It's not surprising he is trying to get out of debuting the group, because chances of getting a return of investment are low. If the girls had won, they did have more known names like Ryujin or Soomin, but as a group, the same problem would be there. That's just my personal opinion about it^^'

Do we have record or data on how tall the girls are? Haerin and soeun probably the tallest right?

We don't have a record, some girls probably have insoles on here (I'm looking at Yujin and Suijn for insoles, but can't confirm^^') but you can definitely see Haerin and Soeun are taller:

DM9Xi7MV4AAGWdL.jpg

It must be something along the lines of:

Very tall: Soeun and Haerin

tall: Soyeon, Soomin, Yerim

Average: Sujin, Bowon, Minseo, Yujin, Jiyoon

Short: Suhyun

If you look, Suhyun is the one who always wears heels, even on the pic above, and despite heels, she appears shorter than Soyeon/Soomin.

Edit: edited the height names xD

I remember that soyeon used to be the tallest in YouU during kpop star days 😂😂

Now she's "average-tall"

XD I didn't know how to say it, I think Haerin and Soeun are 170cm+ why I guess would be very tall for Korean standards, Soyeon would be tall then, let me edit^^ Edited by Loo

i always had the feeling that Yujin and Jiyoon are also part of the short line lol

edit: And Sujin too laugh.png

Iirc, the Korean average is 160cm, which is pretty short, and I feel Yujin, Jiyoon, Sujin and Bowon are all about the same height. The only one I'm unsure about is Minseo ^^' and the only I'm sure is shorter is Suhyun, because she permanently wears heels xD

We'll know better when they finally debut^^

I love that we're getting so many pictures, and when I compare with other pre-debut group I'm following, we're really lucky in that aspect... But then again, I wish we would get more covers and less pictures ^^'

last update with soyeon was on february 26

last update with yujin was 3 weeks ago

imstupid.png

This picture summarizes what Favegirls account has been about ever since Mixnine ended:

DY43uwDVAAAc14b.jpg

I love these 6, but I also love the other 4 members...

Yujin is optional, Bowon and Soyeon updates happen once in a blue moon and I think the only reason we started getting more of Soomin is because fans were asking about her a lot.

If Soyeon, Bowon and Soomin weren't the top contenders for the final lineup along with Sujin (based on popularity I mean), I'd be seriously worried. I still believe it means the girls we're not seeing must be up to something else (like a unit debut^^).
If not, I really question what Fave is doing, letting the spotlight completely fall off the popular girls is not going to do any good. Bowon's hype will completely fade away like Soyeon's have :/

This may sounds offensive but she's a bit too big to be soyeon(or maybe its the angle).

Ranyoung wouldn't have been blur either.

I hope I don't sound offensive eother, but it's for the same reason I thought she is a staff member. It's not like she is "big", but more like the others are smaller... if that makes sense?

Soeun's pose is such a big miss that it's funny xD

The last one is interesting though, who's the girl in the back? Soyeon?

Trying to stay positive, the lack of update could be a sign they're too busy...?

At this point I don't know anymore. Damn you Fave for having access to all the resources yet having no clue how to use them... Proof it's not all about having the money but it's a lot about being smart and making good promotional strategies. If a small company like Source could do it, Fave has no excuse...

maknae line has enough time to study and create choreos for songs like "i am your gummy bear"

girlies aren't preparing anything

tenor.gif?itemid=5766281

I don't think they particularly made up anything for the choreo, it just seems to be a trend they picked up. Blackpink did the same (but I guess BP is not exactly an example of being busy with YG denying them their comeback....)

With j*j officially end on april 30th.May 1st sounds like a promising date to start a fresh new chapter for our girls.

With people angry at their disbandment, even if Fave cleared up it's not their fault, the girls could get some backlash if it's that close...

Fave is quite disappointing tbh... They started out great, getting us all to go into detective mode. Then they let Mixnine completely kill their strategy and now it's like they don't know what to do.

Mixnine was a bad idea... Feels like they went back on their initial plan because of it. As if something during Mixnine happened and made them doubt what they were going with. Everyone agreed the 11 member lineup was great, regardless of their result on the show. I don't understand why they're not going through with it. Even if they switch out a few members if they need to...

I absolutely loved the intro videos G.Idle did so we get to know the members. I would totally be in favor of Fave releasing a video like this every other week for one girl, the next week having video practice and official pictures with profile release and so on. Having a long introduction period so they can finalize whatever they haven't finalized yet while keeping the fans engaged and interested and building up the fandom. Just getting the debut process going!

DO YOU READ THIS FAVE? GET THE DEBUT GOING! THE GIRLS ARE AS READY AS THEY CAN BE! They'll learn the rest as they go, on stage... No group debuts perfect, the whole point is to see them grow as they go!

I'm so jealous with jeon soyeon. She has solo debut then group debut while park soyeon still in the basement. I'm also jealous with G.Idle because cube made a fast move to promote them before debut, even their IG followers grow so fast. Where are you Fave? What are you doing? Im angry now, just let them get the hype back!!!!

As someone who followed both processes, until G.Idle was announced, besides Minnie and Miyeon's covers once in a while, there wasn't much regarding the group... People didn't even really know who would be in the lineup. Once Fave put their mind to it, hopefully we'll quickly get a lot of wanted material too. But really, for now, even with the selective releases of mostly Jiyoon, Soeun and Sujin, we have been getting a lot more pre-debut material than what was released for "Cube new girlgroup"

Although we might have one of the 'top 5 most popular trainee' G.Idle still got the upper hands when it come to 'company fans/cube fans' support.

I am not sure why Fave tried so hard to hide Soyeon, afraid of overused/overexposed image that much?

I wonder... Sure Soyeon didn't make IOI and Soomin didn't win Kpop Star, but I can't help comparing to Somi. Somi's fans complain about her lack of music activities, but she grew her fanbase steadily with all her variety shows and CFs. Soyeon and Soomin would probably not be as big, but we could be a step further... We could have 2 big names to ensure public interest, Sujin/Haerin/Bowon should have been booked to appear in CFs or at least in MVs of other groups with them getting that much spotlight on Mixnine (I know Mixnine flopped, but they should still have been able to work on that bit of interest to give them jobs...). I mean Sujin and Haerin were in every single "top visuals of Mixnine" list I saw, and Bowon got into top 18 barely getting spotlight. If that's not interest, I don't know what is...

Soyeon, Soomin, Sujin, Haerin and Bowon could carry a looot of popularity pre-debut if Fave knew what they were doing.

Having 5 known faces, then adding Minseo and Yujin by showing their pre-debut acting would get people interested. Suhyun, Soeun and Jiyoon would naturally benefit from the interest and with the right spotlight at the right time, not lose out to the rest...

But no, instead of using the known names, Fave is pushing the maknae line on social media and leaving out the girls who actually brought fans to the group in the first place :/

Like I said, I love the maknae line, but it truly is Soyeon and Soomin who brought me here, I know it's the same for most people in the thread, so it's frustrating that Fave doesn't understand this is who they should use now in pre-debut time to grow the interest.

They're posting on social media like the girls have debuted, but they haven't. Right now, we should see dance and song covers and quirky videos once in a while. You don't get into a music group for pictures and funny videos, music is the first reason. Seeing what they cover and how they cover songs would give a lot of hints about future concept: again, that's how you build a following.

Sorry for the rant... But Fave is part of Loen/Kakao M, they have enough funds to do something like Loona. It's incredibly frustrating to know a company has the means to do things, but doesn't. I want the girls to be successful, and I know they have all the talent, visual, fun etc needed to be successful, but if Fave doesn't start playing their cards right, we're just getting Fiestar 2.0: wasted talent.

Haerin left? No way, has to be BS. She was being pushed a lot in their twitter posts etc so it seems really weird that she would have left :(

Comments along the lines of "forget the old Fave girls"....and no Soyeon for months. Oh god please note Soyeon as well :((((

No way, the group is built around Soyeon and Soomin, actually even adding Soomin was building the group around Soyeon. It would make no sense...

i legit wonder what's happening in fave rn... yujin also apparently left?

we got no updates for almost 10 days now, the 2 most popular members have been missing for weeks....

How do you know Yujin left?

It's weird cause they're all saying Haerin made an sns account, but nobody is giving the link to it.

If it's true, it means the debut might really be getting closer. But damn, I want little Olivia Hussey... They could add Ranyoung and have 2 model/actress visuals, then have little Suzy Sujin, adding Bowon and we'd go from a visual trinity to a visual quadrinity...

Oh no, don't even think about it imstupid.png

There's definitely something happening inside Fave at the moment, I think we should expect something soon.

Hopefully debut teaser, not PD48 participants... Edited by Loo

It would be, but then again a few weeks in Korean entertainment is a long time lol.

Still I suspect that she is still under Fave - so what that means for her and the rest of the girls now is unknown.  Is she no longer part of the group plans or are they trying to get her more recognition before the group debuts?

I wish I knew what FAVE was thinking - the total lack of updates over the last 2 weeks is just making us all a little edgy now haha smile.png

I suspect she got cut from the lineup, so they gave her this opportunity instead. If they wanted more exposure for the group, they would have sent more "ace" trainees, Bowon or Haerin come to mind because they missed their chance during M9 and could have definitely done better with a bit of luck.

Let's not forget that the girls who make the lineup this time will have 2.5 year contract. While they can all promote with their other group, I think companies learned from IOI and know that not only will the get backlash for it, but that the girls can only do that many schedules before breaking down from fatigue...

Such a strong difference with what happened in Mixnine. Suhyun didn't even get a support tweet. I guess the profile has not been officially revealed yet, but still... There were news reports about her participating...

Loo, now that Suhyun and Produce 48 are more relevant

and Haerin is out

i think you should add them in the tags instead of Mixnine and Park Haerin

Not removing Haerin until someone gives me actual proof she left... If she was on IG, old JYP trainees would follow her, but I see nothing.

I'm fine with removing the PD101 and the Mixnine tags for Produce48 and Shin Suhyun, if that's okay with you guys...
