Each day YG went to visit different agencies, and the people they decided to take for the show were travelling in the bus I guess lol people saw it (them?) in the streets, took pictures and posted them on Twitter

I knew there were other girls in the bus, just couldn't identify them ^^'

They can't all make it, final group will have 9 members, we already have 11 on the show ^^'

I'm not sure which strategy is best, sending everyone in hopes of having 1 or 2 girls in, or putting all your hopes on your one "ace" trainee... in PD101, Soyeon was alone and missed the chance. On the other hand, Pristin had a lot of members on the show and 2 members made IOI. Maybe having more members on the show will have a "push" effect and land a couple of girls in the final lineup? It would be amazing.

But even then, the final girl lineup has to be voted against the boy lineup, and that is sort of close to impossible...

It's sort of hard to pick who will be the visual in this group ^^' so many pretty girls!

I love how Fave girls are ahead of their time, not only debuting 02-liners, but a 03-liner

Other groups already have 2002 liners (Elris Karin is the first that comes to mind, but Loona Yeojin, Weki Meki Lucy too, NCT Jisung or Samuel are too), and 2003 line will probably who debuts first between them and Fromis_, though JYP and SM have 2003 liners for their upcoming groups (for 2018-2019).

What sure is they're definitely going to be one of groups with lower average age out there^^

At this point I think the group or various members of the group have the most amount of screentime out of any of the female trainees.

Agreed, but strangely, not Sumin and Soyeon, I feel Haerin and Sujin as individuals have received the most screentime, and then the group. 

Not surprised with Haerin, I feel she's going to be pushed, but Sujin comes as a surprise. Happy about it tho^^ Sumin and Soyeon have their following, so does Yerim, if other members get the push, that's fine with me^^

I just sort of wish they hadn't sent Soyeon and Sumin, 3rd survival for both + years of training, how heartbreaking if they don't win/make the final lineup again, and at the same time, it's going to be hard to get 2 members in a 9 member lineup. I trust their abilities, but not the editing :S

Yujin and Haerin seem to be good singers, I was expecting them to be talentless visuals lol, but Loen never disappoints !

 

Soyeon was amazing omg

I want to see Sujin's full audition, I hope Knetz vote for it. That weirdo dance, I want to see it! 

 

The most unexpected one to me was Jiyoon, the picture showed her dancing, Idk why she is doing that impersonation/acting skit?

 

Bowon's was a bit disappointing, only a dance cover...? Then again we only saw 30 seconds, there might have been more to it.

 

I hate that people need to vote for us to see audition, and then we might get the audition of people YG already eliminated

Yeah I picked up on that part as well.  Its making me really curious as to how they are deciding what trainees to send forward.  It struck me as if they were running a system similiar to kpop star - where the judges only have a certain amount of cards they can use to take an act to the next stage.  It was almost like they are have a set number of cards per judge (or per agency or for a group of agencies) and once they use the cards up they cant send any more acts through.

I thought about it again later but didn't post, Sujin, Haerin, Sumin and Soeun were for sure in the bus, so the one card must be an elimination, at least I hope ^^'

And I'm not sure, they want 400 people in the end, that would be a big enough number to select generously? The eliminations are going to be harsh though, I'm expecting hundreds eliminated at once quite fast into the show. 400 is just too many for the public to get an overview of who's who.

Idk what happened, but that explains why the official account has been uploading dance covers of Soyeon...? 

I was sort of fearing this would happen, but we got Sujin as one top on the show, and Haerin and Soomin quite high in A, and overall a lot of girls on the show, it will be okay. There are a lot of members, not all can shine at the same time.

 

Also I'm sort of not surprised at Yerim not making it, she's not YG's type. YG likes dancers or trainees with a strong visual or vocal identity, which is why it's weird Soyeon didn't make it, but sort of understandable he wouldn't pick Yerim. She's a ballad singer, with a nice voice but that doesn't particularly stand out as unique. That doesn't take away any of her talent, she's probably our main vocal. A steady and powerful main vocal who's voice can still blend in with members is really the best for a gg imo. 

 

 

Hey, i'm new here. Was a big Soomin fan during kpop star 6 and after seeing the group in mix9, i got curious about the group and rest of the girls and I'm already a semi stan.  Hope to see more of them in the upcoming episodes

I think a simple explanation is that YG has a general principle not to accept high profile alumni from previous audition shows but he has a personal connection and affection for Soomin and Go Ara who were both on Kpopstar 6 which he co-judged and who were both well liked by him so he made an exception for them.

 

He has no such experience and connection to Soyeon so he did not make an exception for her.

Actually he does? Soyeon was on Kpop Star 2 and trained at YG as a member of YouU... The memory is just less fresh for YG I guess?

Yeah but that's to put into perspective. No member has been successful yet...

 

 

- Song Ha-ye (1994), debuted in 2013 as a soloist. She has released only 6 songs, the rest are OSTs. She's nowhere to see really...

- Mirim (1995), debuted in TINT in 2013 as well, the group has released 2 songs and disappeared...

- Minju (1994), debuted in The Ark in 2015, disbanded. Re-participated in Kpop Star S6 in 2016 but didn't win. Joined group Day Day that disbanded before debut. (My heart breaks thinking about how unlucky she is T.T)

- Yuji (1998), didn't win the Kara Project in 2014, debuted in Apple.B in 2017 (funny enough, same company as Mirim...). Is participating in The Unit in 2017.

- Park Soyeon (1999), didn't make the final lineup in PD101 in 2016, didn't make the final lineup in Mixnine in 2017.

I just watched the full "Holiday" performance, and wow Yerim   

Part of me thinks she'll get to shine better solo, sort of like IU, because her solo song showed how good she is with sharing emotion and not just serving vocals (+there is Soomin who can totally cover as a main vocal too), but part of me thinks she could be one of this generation's best main vocal, if not one of the best main vocals ever and then I want her in the group so bad...

 

On the downside, even though they shared the lines quite evenly, I can see some getting the short end of the stick, so I'm still not down for 11 members ^^'

Looks like it, I would have said Yerim is main and Soomin-Soeun are double lead though^^ Yerim is slaying the ad-libs and high notes throughout the song, I feel she's the only main.

 

I also feel Yerim is leader more so than Soyeon? Was I the only one getting that feeling? Even though she's younger than Soyeon, she had that mature feel around her, taking care of the others and encouraging the girls who were selected, she was also the one turning the cards for the last 3 members...

I was lowkey praying for ranyoung and haeun to appear but at this point i think loen totally ditched them and we will never hear of them again [emoji88]

this is sorta the reason why i didn't want her to get #1 this early. (although it wasn't really a popularity vote). it puts a big target on her back. but then again, i'm happy she was able to be the first center because we get to see her forever in the main mv for the show's song. 

 

i guess you have to take the good with the bad. i actually hope she fall back towards the lower end of the top 9 or hover around top 15 for awhile to take some of the negative attention away from her.

Tbh, no popularity comes with being liked by everybody... Popularity means having fierce antis too. The biggest groups in the industry also have the worst antis... I think the comments are not too bad + [+28][-195] how representative is that of anything? Because on one post over-praising her and comparing her to big names (which btw always gets bad comments), 200 people put a dislike... It really means nothing^^

That aside, I realized, we still have nothing for Yerim. When Soyeon wasn't selected on Mixnine, the official accounts immediately posted her dance covers, then a dance cover with Yujin, but nothing about Yerim. She's quite a big trainee, as much if not more as the Soomin Soyeon duo. 

I don't follow Loen enough, but as far as I know, nobody even knew she signed with Loen... I wonder why it was such a big secret when it was made quite big for Soyeon (back in the days...^^) and for Soomin. And I wonder why we don't get an amazing song cover from her, or why she didn't dance with Yujin and Soyeon in that video... I want more Yerim!
