I just watched a bit of Gugudan's latest comeback MV The Boots and thought that elegant sexy concept would suit Favegirls debut.

the concept is amazing and cool, but i think Koreans don't like that dark style much 

so i would prefer the girls go on a safer way

They should pay Shinsadong Tiger to write them a syndrome type song like Bboom Bboom.

Fave won't trust shinsadong tiger again  since he was the main composer for Fiestar between 2013-2015

he did serious bops tho

 

imo, Fave should try with IU composing/wrtiting them a song (they'll get attention thanks to IU ride, so they'll be in the radar a bit)

after that it'll depent on Fave's management of the group

IU's style is not very suitable for a girl group who will dance a lot... I agree about the dark style, though I love it, it's something that can only be done once in a while when you have a stable fandom willing to follow you through it. They'll gain fans and momentum with colorful concepts and songs with good hooks, it's what works best in debut years. Idk composers much, I never really got interested in who composed what, I just enjoy the song or I don't ^^' But I would love for them to pick up a style similar to Kara's Jumping/Step/Mama Mia. These were so good and had a lot of personality, I think it would suit them and enable them to show charisma without going on the cute side.

you're right about IU's style 

Imo they should try something like IOI veryx3,

 f(x) pink tape (school concept but not the cute side)

or this type

 

these concepts are the safer ways for the girls

i don't see Sujin doing a super badass hip hop concept 

and i don't see Suhyun, Soomin and Soyeon doing an extremelly cute concept

As long as they have a public friendly debut song (Vista anyone? One of the best debut song out there), a solid follow-up (let's forget We Don't Stop pls) they should be ok imo. Girly/colorful concept should work too (especially considering they'll debut during spring/summer)

I loved #LoveMe^^ buuut.... More upbeat. I actually loved Favorite's debut song 

 

but with a stronger chorus, here it's a bit weak, but it would probably be too similar to OMG

 

Vista was a bop... But all the comebacks were lackluster T.T (sorry fans... I followed the group with Vista and sort of stopped following when the comebacks were so average... Shame cause they have super talented members)

and as you say the chorus lacks but omg the MV and the rest is really good

Ok, going into "Can I be honest and oops I'm getting into trouble!!!" territory again.

 

IMHO, half the girls seem to fit into one concept and half the girls seem to fit into another and right now there's an obvious split personality in Favegirls' training group.

 

Soyeon, Soomin, Haerin and Suhyun seem to fit into the darker, more chic , girlcrush concept. More "YG" in general.

 

Sujin, Bowon, Jiyoon, Soeun and Minseo seem to fit the more bubbly, schoolgirl, fresh concept that appeal to fanboys. More early SNSD "SM", Girlfriend in general.

 

I foresee problems coming up with a unifying concept for these two main and very different groups that doesn't seem forced or artificial. Imagine trying to produce a concept for a group that had both Twice and BlackPink members.

 

I'm sure some girls can fit into either group but you get what I mean, some of the girls just seem so different, it will be awkward forcing them to fit a common concept.

 

The problem is that Soyeon and Soomin joined. Before that, I could see no problem about Sujin, Haerin, Bowon, Jiyoon and Minseo being in the same group. Haerin looks like she could be bubbly too if required.

 

The problem is worsened because Soyeon and Soomin are arguably the 2 most popular members so it's not a case of just getting rid of the 2 of them. I say this with Soomin and Soyeon being my 2 bias in Favegirls.

 

Does Fave build around the main group and risk their 2 popular members sticking out like sore thumbs or build around just the 2 most popular members and risk the other 6-8 girls being glorified backup dancers being forced into a concept that is totally alien to them?

 

 

i think we can't just narrow down to cute and badass/girl crush concepts

there's a variety of concepts the girls can try ^^(that  can be easier to pull off as a group)

other loen girl groups, Sunny hill and (2012) Fiestar went on super cool concepts

that weren't generic but still garnered some attention

 

i'm sure the girls will show us in the future that they ae able to pull off any concept

i dont want them to be a meme though. meme songs are only fads. once you start, there will be a stigma attached to your group forever.... for better or worse.

 

and i think the trainees in fave dont fit concepts like bboom bboom anyways. something like vista or a strong concept would fit them better. cute is also a way to go, but just dont wear schoolgirl outfits.

 

there's a girl group that dances to iu's style of music and that's gfriend. it's a good and safe way to go but most of the group fits more uptempo music imo.

Gfriend has great music, but yeah, i think the girls would go for a more uptempo music

mixnine: Sujin ends up being my fav in this show (Soomin is still my 1st pick for girls, so I'd say Sujin is my 2nd in this show)

even though i agree a point (JYP), i think OP is kind of biased. 

specially when they say that Choi Hayoung is the best female dancer

she's good, but as far as i remember she trained for like 2 months in korea?

(she trained 4 years ballet/jazz dance on italy buuut kpop dances never go on that road,

that's why M*mo is the main dancer and not M*na in tw*ce)

and Hayoon is a decent vocal and a good dancer, but i feel she's overrated,

her fans are way too loud (both in the show and on the internet)

i don't remember anyone praising her vocals to be called "all round talent"

 

OP says the majority of the boy group is talented

in the girl group we have: 

Soomin THE all round talent (talks english and chinese)

Heejin: she's a good dancer and her vocals are decent too

Eyedi: an artist

Hyokyung: another good Vocal (can talk english)

Hayoung: her Mixnine raps were Weak, but she's super capable  of better raps (want you to say ) and is a good dancer

if Ryujin sticks to dancing and not rapping : a good dancer

and we already have the majority here

Hello I've been away from here in a while so what did I miss?

there was a valentine video, and the girls posted new year selcas (everyone except Yujin and Yerim)

I agree with you about Choi Hayoung not being the best dancer in the show. I mean, she was good and she has lots of potential, but by no means she was the best. For me the best and the most proficient one was Kim Sihyun (The Music Works), who sadly was underrated af. And I also agree about Soomin, Heejin, Eyedi, Hyokyung, Hayoung and Ryujin, everything you said.

 

But I definitely disagree with you about Hayoon lol. The girl never lost in the show, she was the most consistent of them all, she was Top 9 (Top2) from the very beginning, but sadly she was greatly affected by the evil editing they did on her. They did her dirty.

 

 

Hayoon is talented. She does have really good vocals, she is also a really good dancer (one of the best in my opinion) and she was by far the best performer of them all.

 

She was praised by YG, the trainers, the producers and composers…even the rest of the girls were saying she was too good. If she is not what you call an “all round talent†then I don’t know what it is. That’s why ppl were calling her Ace Hayoon; more than overrated, she was underrated to me.

 

If she would have been from JYP she would have been No.1 easily. No one would call her out for that, because she has the talent to back it up.

 

 

Also, Soomin is a better vocalist than Hayoon, that’s clear cuz she is awesome, but I think Hayoon is as stable or even more than Soomin when performing. Also she is a fast learner just like Soomin and they’re both great performers, but for me Hayoon has the edge here as she has such an easy way to express herself… she is just natural on stage. 

 

In my opinion, they were both the best female contestants on the show, the true aces. And I wanna put Sujin there too cuz I’m biased af and is true lol.

rewatching this video....it seems as though soyeon is taking on more of the leadership role here... suhyun who is expected to be leader..i mean if she stays in group is more on the silent side

 

 

i was going to point that out before 

maybe Loen really plans to give the leadership to the most experienced member

after all, astrologically Suhyun is pisces which is a more quiet sign than sagittarius
