In fact I thought their debut was atrocious, but I know my shit. I used to think those who thought Twice could be a nation's girl group were delusional, but then I saw the light. They have so many 'it group' factors, and so many potential 'it girls.' Let me elaborate for you: Talent - The closest thing that comes to talent in the entire group is Momo's competent dancing and Nayeon's slightly below average vocals. Long story short, they are lacking massively in the talent area. But what does this mean? How is this going to effect their nation's title? Answer is, it doesn't. You don't need talent to get recognition. You need appeal. Which brings me to my next point Appeal - The group has tons of appeal. They appeal to a large audience actually. There is a member for everyone. I feel like JYP learned from his mistake after debuting Miss A with only 1 appealing member. Shame he couldn't have kept Miss A's musical debut quality. YOU CANNOT say that Red Velvet has a large amount of appeal. They only have around 2 appealing members in that group. But that really is not saying much. Visuals - Cheerleader effect in full effect. 8/9 are indeed pretty girls but only Tzuyu stands out amongst the rest. If you compared the other 7 of the 8 pretty members to the other females in the industry, they would not stand out. Like every other group, they have that one member who just doesn't look as pretty as the rest but I'll save that for later. Anticipate my Twice visual rankings. SNSD on the other hand, did not have such an outstanding visual ratio. Luckily they had Yoona, so they still made it. Due to this, Gfriend have no chance. This also takes away from their appeal points. Luck - JYP. Twice is from a big company. Automatic luck. So yes, Twice is going to become the nations girl group. Did we ever had an it girl who isn't Korean? and also yes, her visuals are outstanding and I ADORE everything about her (feeling a pedo xD) but she isn't that pale compared to all the it girls I would love her to be an it girl and finally koreans could see the light with not being white it's not something "bad" ? But that really is not saying much. Edit: why you gotta bring up my favorite group, OP? Honestly, the reason why Twice is able to show their charms is BECAUSE they CAME OUT OF A REALITY SHOW. People who watch can "know" them. Red Velvet has done variety but doesn't have their own show since debut. If you compare both groups on V App their appeal factor is subjective (realizing RV has 5 members). but not that far off. Who are the only "two appealing members" you speak of BTW? Why do people always think that popular good looking girl group = nation's gg just no Exactly. If this was the case then Nine Muses would be doing better than Mamamoo. I mean look at the previous national ggs, S.E.S, Fin.k.l(?), Wonder Girls, and SNSD. All of them became the nation's gg after a huge hit song. NO it's amazing a girl group has lasted this long with that title, WG had that title for like a year or so, SNSD has 6 years, it's already amazing, they aren't getting any younger so of course they can't be nation's gg forever but sis, are you that angry bc apink could neva?
