So YGstans...About YG Dropping Stock Value

Recently people's been talking about YGE's stock on the continuously decreasing trend past few months, especially AFTER iKON's debut. Some people, especially haters, are faulting this on iKON. As much as I don't really like iKON's debut, I don't think they was the main reason at all.

If your compare the Stock Trends of BIG3 this year, we could see that YG did worst since Sept in term of stock trends and is the only company with that steady decline this year from Sept onwards.

(oh, fyi: The DIP at mid Aug of all companies was mainly due to the Crisis in China's stock marke that affected many businesses in Asia btw)

Here are my thoughts on this issue. What do you think?

This whole "Stock Dropping" issue here is due to MANY factors.

YGE as a whole entails a lot more business than just an idol group debut. The stock trend reflects the investors' confidence and expectation of the company as well. iKON is just a rookie group, how can they strongly affect the whole company's stock? It's more or less to deal with YGE's reputation as a whole.

- The rise before iKON debut could be mostly due to BIGBANG's come back and activity. BIGBANG is currently the biggest earner of YGE (abt 3 quarter) and also one of the most influential groups in the industry. Their huge and extremely successful comeback with its big impact in Korea that promise great future return was probably the reason why investors was so confident in investing in YGE, hence high and increasing stock value during those past few months. However, BIGBANG stopped promoting in Korea and has yet comeback since then. YGE has also yet confirmed a proper comeback with Full Album of Bigbang, which may stir more trust issue and affect investors' confidence.

- YG's controversies: YHS's violation of property law for his building, Excessive Mediaplay that backfired the marketing purpose, YG's conflicts with broadcast stations, Questioning Contract & Promotion Issue for 2NE1, Delayed comebacks of other artists... and some other business issues... iKON's debut is successful but it's not strong enough to make up for all the issues of YGE so far =>The overall effect is the losing confidence and more doubtful attitude of Investors towards YGE as a whole.

- Other external factors in Stock Markets.

WHAT DO YOU THINK THE MAIN REASONS OF YG'S DROPPING STOCK ARE?

most likely stocks dropped because no one is promoting or has music out.

BIGBANG were the only ones all year and now that they are on tour

no one is promoting besides IKON right now...

it hasn't been a great year for YG aside from BIGBANG's releases.

hopefully things change soon with the upcoming comebacks and debuts

GOT7 comeback at that time .

No Got7 comeback on July 13, end of August Got7 ends promotion so stockholder feels there are no more to invest for that year.

I guess that's why JYP was in a hurry for Got7 to comeback on 28 September.

Just listen to music and stop caring about stuffs which doesn't affect the music quality or quantity. PERIOD! Also stock value doesn't affect the real asset so meh!

Less money is less money for writers, designers, producers, choreographers and directors

How will this NOT affect YG?

Hmmm... here i think is my interpretation according to the graphs and as a player myself in stockmarket.

For YG, many investors bought stocks because they knew bigbang would promote, after the promotion ends they sold there stocks immediately thus the decline come october. They sell there stocks because bigbangs promotion already ended and the price of the stocks would be devaluated over time if they hold on to it. Idea is "better sell now than later."

For SM, it is currently rising month for month due to the positive reaction of the album releases from there stable. The albums from SM this year has been received positively, does gaining more value to there stock and investors holding to the stocks longer, hoping for a break even before they sell. so there idea is "Hold onto to  the stock and purchase more as the value rise up then sell after the year ends etc..."

For JYP, I can see there stocks are just rising but not near the levels of April performance, the investors are currently in wait and see mode meaning they are holding off buying stocks since they are still cautious as to what is the outlook of  JYP months ahead. They are currently promoting 3 rookie groups so the investors are cautious to invest in something that still untested. Having promotions and constant media play helps the overall outlook for the investors since they will know if it is worth it to invest on JYP or not.

the idea currently is  "Wait and see."

How it is less money? Do you think when the stock goes down YG's money in bank account decreases?? Please don't tell me you think stock is the REAL money in bank account!!
