I actually felt a regression in production value and quality in Chat-shire. Taking into account the tracks existing in both and averaging an impression: tbh I was disappointed with this release. But when I listened to Chat-shire, I couldn't stop listening, I like the cheeky way it sounded. I am yet to listen to the other songs of IU from her album and will probably do so later on. It fits her style/personality more than Modern Times. Well, it was a concept album after all. Modern Times was good and Chat-Shire was just as lovely. lolylen 984 Posted October 23, 2015 Share Posted October 23, 2015 Modern times is one of the best albums in kpop as a whole imo.IU was praised so much for it that people started calling her a genius.it would be hard for anyone to live up to that. but i really enjoy Chat-shire too..it's a solid release imo..some songs will probably grow on me even more once i know the lyrics and hear them live. Listening to Modern Times just takes you on a trip and I love just how magical it sounds. I haven't given Chat-shire a good listen yet, but with my first few listens I haven't found any song that grabs me. I don't think the album is a downgrade, but just a different sound from IU.
