Tips for an art journal?

Today I got a free moleskin as a promotional thing, I love how its good quality etc. But I don't like the front cover, with the company's name on it. Even though I love the quality, I'm hesitant to put my doodles and such. I was thinking of covering it with a meaningful Polaroid, but what do you think?

Customizing your personal stuff you need to consider few things.

1st is who is going to see it/for what purpose you will use it.

If at some point you want to "show it off" to somebody and the customised cover makes you feel uneasy/embarassed - don't do it/find something you will feel fine about. If it's just for you, you are free to do anything.

2nd is for how long are you planning to use it/in what ways.

If you are planning to use it for long time and carry with yourself a lot, you'd consider something that will be quite resistable against dirt/fingerprints and all the stuff. Also, a thing that you won't get bored with over the time. Pick something that will look nice even if worn-off a little. Idea with polaroid can be nice but think of the way to place it there since from what I've noticed polaroids get a bit dirty from for example other books/printed stuff (they are brushing off the paint I think) and they do get fingerprints too.

With all "artsy" stuff that is supposed to be useful it's good to consider those things before you do anything. Said from personal experience - I have plenty of things I've done in the past and I thought they are cool but they turned to be not practical or I stopped liking the design after some time so...
