Debuts of the Current Top Groups

Wonder.

No one is judging their entire career but a debut is a pretty good indicator of the direction a group is heading. You can't not expect people to discuss their performance and compare them with groups considered to be their "rivals" on a Kpop discussion forum lol.

But yeah you bring up a great point but the only issue I see is that Kpop is so saturated especially with girl groups so it's easy to become irrelevant after a year or two . And SNSD had a great debut js.

Into the new world is personally still my favourite song from snsd.

Tbh lol. All top groups get popular with that one "hit" song. And btw are we talking about Twice? Cause I haven't heard/seen it yet and idk what to expect with this thread :/

Edit: btw MAMA was my fuckin jam lol ;D

i know these songs may be good but the point is they werent the ones that shoot them to popularity lol

and yeah im talking about twice

twice is doing very well for a rookie group, but those threads about them flopping were expected because people here hyped them so much and "nation's girl group" and stuff

that was mostly from trolls though tbh and yeah i guess but people are going overboard like and its just a point i wanted to make

Yes because the trend has drastically changed since 2009 except for EXO, YG has been owning debut chances likr hot pancakes. If other agencies doesn't step up on the game it is likely that the future will also come from them.

Oh, La La La... Guilty pleasure #1.

I kinda liked MAMA a lot too lol it had a nice concept

Lies is exactly a year after BB's debut, tho..

edit: and actually I don't see the reason to put Haru Haru there, it was a hit, but they were already famous.

But Soshi was already popular on their debut year. They just blew up really big with Gee.

my point isnt rly revolved around snsd's fame, even though they were popular in their debut year no one would've known that they'd be the group who would end up as nation's gg.. wg was more popular and everything and not a lot of ppl would've thought snsd would overpass them someday and thats like my point u cant judge someone's entire career over a debut

Ya I know, just a personal favourite.

Its a bit harsh to judge them based on just 1 song. We all know that but since this is onehallyu.  :unimpressed:

It isn't a flop but I guess it didn't reach that sky high expectations too.

We know a good debut is great for groups but an ok debut isn't bad either? We never know the future anyway.

Don't care about the charts much. If they are "flopping", let it be. Enjoy your music.

Personally don't like their debut song but good luck to them.

Your thread is kind of also pointing out "Top group's Popularity on debut". I merely pointed out some neglected facts :)

And yeah, I got your point. Twice is a rookie group with lots of opportunity still ahead of them.
