he really doesn't talk about his dad at all...maybe he left his family or the mother some time ago? because i know a video from SWC 2012 were all of Jjongs family members visited him together, so i assume until that date his father was with them...?

During Live Connection Jonghyun says that as a child he lived with his mother, his sister and his grandfather and his mother had many jobs and made many sacrifices for the family. He never mentioned his father and he is not there in family photos. I read around that sometimes during public events there is his uncle, but this doesn't exclude that his father can still occasionally be present in the life of Jonghyun though (probably) left his family many years ago.

The only certainty is that he has bad memories of his childhood and that he rarely talks about his father but idolizes his mother and his sister. It 'obvious that his insomnia and his excessive sensibility are the result of traumatic events that he still cannot overcome...

I'm very sorry for him, unfortunately, a family can be a source of comfort but also of great tribulation ...

Jjong's dad was abusive...he has said he's written songs about the situation but out of respect for his mother, SHINee and family he won't release them publicly.

i always wonder why i never heard him talk about his father. is something wrong with their relationship or else. anybody know?
